what are you wearing right now?

I came REALLY close to buying those crazy industrial sunglasses Sascha Konietzko used to sport in the early '90s.
I didn’t, because I was in high school and couldn’t afford them.
In retrospect it’s just as well, as I would’ve looked like a tool.

I knew this thread would bring out the drag angle…SPEAKING of which, WHERE the hell is Connelly?

Gunnar, i totally stole what you said for my sig.

As for the topic, a restructured Bauhaus shirt made into a hoodie, and black&white striped knee highs, under micro fishnets, under ‘hotpants’(?). There was a white skirt, and belts.
I usually wear 2 belts. Its a joke that started out involving Scott weiland, Salt Lake City, my dad and my boyfriend.

I dress like a ‘skeezy’. I’ll say it before anyone calls me out on it. The funny thing is, as ‘vulgar’ as the outfit may sound or seem, there are lots of layers of clothing involved.

p.s, Gerda, I am so incredibly happy you liked the shirt. I was so hesitant to get it, but am glad I did.

Pics, please.

Lard shirt.Mate spawn and die. I love Biafra. he has many stories.such a good person, with bad taste as far as fashion goes.

Does Raymond wear similar glasses? I just thought they were Elton John glasses (they’re actually my wife’s)

He did when I saw KMFDM in '03. They do look a little more like Elton glasses though

i wish i still had a bauhaus shirt. Mike nash and bill mainey were my roomates, and I got joy division dishtowels, for crying out loud. and bauhaus shirts.fucking hell. peter murphy was one of the people to actually scare me. and someone i enjoyed talking to. nice guy. literate. went on to work with young riflin’ (Bill).I would kill for bill. run with that one.

I second the kill for bill comment, and lol@Gunnar.

Joy Division Dish Towels?

Scary Peter Murphy?? http://dreamingcoloursdeep.tumblr.com/post/4386400135

He was amazing last time I saw him in concert [March?] And practicaly looked like the same as in the pics in the link.

girls, alas. rule.“Church signs across america” is a Christmas present from Paul Elledge and Leasha. There would be one girl checking it ouch.

I have that shirt.

I’ve met Biafra exactly twice and both times he’s seemed irritated with me (Perhaps I came off star struck) but was very gracious with the kids in the “punk uniform” which is odd cause he rails against the “punk uniform” in all of spoken word albums… Oh well, if maybe we met under the right circumstances maybe he’d be cooler in person.

no bigee I still like the guy’s music and like his message, although his political message is a bit behind now that Political blogs have been invented, which is too bad considering he used to be one of the front runners in exposing fucked up politicians. (although, it is nice that regular people have “become the media”)

He’s one of the main reasons I got my B.A. in Sociology.

i love biafra. he irritates everyone. remind me at some point to tell you the brazil story.

My buddy asked Biafra to sign his dick . . . Jello didn’t really know what to say and just fumbled out, “Uhh, I think there’s some stickers at the merch booth.”

Under what conditions did you meet him?
When we met him, we kind of got the impression that he makes the assumption that anyone who is backstage must be ‘music industry people of some sort or related’, which is certainly not the case with the other two people that I was with or myself.

Wearing the same black top I was wearing on the Saturday night of Retrospectacle and blue jeans.

Under what conditions did you meet him?

in 2000 in Redlands Ca. at the Spitfire tour. He was featured with Michael Frente and Dr. Drew. I met him after everyone had spoken and had him sign my Frankenchrist vinyl, My landscape XX poster, as well as my “I blow minds for a living” CD (my fave spoken word DC) but yeah he was way more willing to talk to the “punk” looking kids that were like 14.

Second time I met him was (what ?) 2 years ago at the El Rey before a GSOM show. He was out “mingling” with the crowd before the show started. I asked him to sign my GSOM vinyl and he was totally bothered, it seemed, apparently, I interrupted his conversation with the 20 year old wearing pants made out of the material that said “fuck you” all over them. (“step right up, anarchy for sale,” anyone?) and the peacock colored mohawk. I asked him about a new lard album he said he knew nothing about it.
and that was it.

Ironically, while I was completely obsessed with Jello for a huge portion of my life, amassed a pretty sick collection of bootlegs, rarities and such, even wrote to him and got myself credited for artistic submissions on the “Pure Chewing Satisfaction” album, I’ve still never met him or seen him perform live.

“I Blow Minds” and “No More Coccoons” are the only spoken word albums worth listening to, by the way. The rest (of course I’ve not listened to any of them for about 12 years, so I may be off) are extremely tedious beatings of long dead horses.

My dad once agreed to listen to some of my Jello tapes when I was in HS and he was worried about some of the stuff I was getting into. I later asked him what he thought and he said, “Actually, he’s got some really good points.” HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I’ve got everything released by him studiowise and only a couple of bootlegs… I could never find them, I tend to collect CD boots more than vinyl and I guess vinyl is where the DK/Jello boots are. I think the only CD i have that’s a boot is Jello’s Revenge and I have no vinyl boots. but I have crazy Jello appearances… Twisted Willie (tribute to willie nelson) In Dub We Trust (DK Dub versions), The Legendary Shack Shakers and Many Bright Friends… Oh wait i do have a 7 inch vinyl of Jello with eugene chadbourne

THat is fucking completely Boss that you got thanked!! As far as seeing him perform live, he’s still pretty animated. I’d recommend it

Wasn’t a big fan of “No More Cocoons” although I did really enjoy “High Preist of Harmful Matter” and “Beyond the Valley of the Gift Police”

In the Grip of Official treason was horribly shamefull on how outdated it was and machine Gun in the Clown’s hand was just an extended version of the big kaboom and become the media and if evolution is outlawed…

My Mom dug a lot of his spoken word too.

??? That’s biafras whole schtick. Many of his lyrics are taken directly from his spoken words. Plus it puts food on his table. Granted his last 4 or so, as gunner said, is beating a long dead horse or more appropriately beating a dead horse that others have beat him to first but there are some solid little gems in a few of the newer ones and 2,3, and 4 are solid albums. Just the fact you said he was a great story teller I figured you’d dig them but hey to each their own.
Odd post.
