Finally got new Lindstrom/Christabelle album. It’s awesome!
Good one!
Yeah that album is friggin great stuff.
I’m waiting patiently for it to be released on vinyl (mid Jan)…I bought it and Amanda Blank’s “I Love You” cds for mr niece for xmas so sneakily burnt them onto my itunes.
I scored Burial’s debut vinyl yesterday.
You should definately check out Linkwood’s new album “System” green death. Also check out the awesome Firecracker Records releases that he’s involved with.
They were saying it’s a mix of Demanufacture and Soul of a New Machine. NOt sure if i’d call that accurate, but it’s a pretty aggressive album with tons of energy put into it. I’m liking it. The new drummer, Hooglan is a fucking beast. Take Herrera, but add a shitload more force into his hits. Not too different from the older stuff, but there’s certainly a change in pace.
[reply][reply]Switching between some kmfdm and chili peppers. By The Way at the moment. One of those albums I thought was boring and went nowhere. Put it away for ages and now it’s like I “get it”.
Let’s hope its the KMFDM disc cause rhcp has been cranking out the same crappy album over and over and over and over… again

I think rhcp are just afraid of change. Especially after One Hot Minute, which is actually my favorite. They do good music, some stinkers, but it’s good. They haven’t really done anything too “new” though. But now that Frusciante left again, maybe there’s hope. Personally, i’d just ditch Rubin. He hasn’t done much of anything good in years now. At this point you might as well self-produce.[/reply]
Can’t stand “one hot minute.” Bought it cause I thought I liked the “my friends” song. little did I find, I did not. Now ALL RHCP sounds the same to me, disgustingly the same. I can spot a RHCP song post BSSM usually from the first note of the song. that’s TOO predictable. Blech

I’m downloading “System” right now Toot, thanks for the heads up! The samples sounded quite good!
Linkwood is friggin awesome. His new album is an amazing journey through many styles of quality House.
Linkwood is Scottish and has ties with a dude at my local record store here in Edinburgh. His Firecracker releases (infact ALL of the Firecracker releases) are friggin fantastic! All of the legendary House Producers/DJs are spinning his stuff and giving him big praises.
Damn is that Lindstrom/Christabelle album great! I’ve had it playing in the lobbey of the yoga studio all day and had numerous people ask me what it is, soon suburban MN is all going to be grooving down to this hot album!

Hahahaha…yeah it’s pure slow-mo futuristic Quincy Jones stylee gangster funk euro disco.
Definately one of the years best along with Linkwood’s “System”.
