secret chiefs 3 did that sometimes, bungle dipped thier toes in that pool once or twice for a few bars

“Boys Who Rape (Should Be Destroyed)” by Raveonettes off their new album, it’s a great song.

jesu: ‘Opiate Sun’

Not bad, not brilliant. Probably the most conventional jesu album to date. The title track and ‘Morning Light’ might be the best, particularly the latter and the more familiar lead guitar at the end of it.

Worth the listen. Value for money? Undecided.

PJ Harvey - White Chalk
Nirvana - Bleach
Yo La Tengo - Painful
Flying Saucer Attack - s/t

while i am enjoying the hell outta it, it is jkb’s most straightforward songwriting in a long while.

Just scored this today along with a few other fresh off the press Dubstep 12"s by Ramadanman and SP.

A real pleasure to see Planet Mu release these instrumentals by Terror Danjah who is the best Grime producer out there by a country mile. To call him a Grime producer doesn’t do the man justice though as his music is far more than that. The production really is 2nd to none.

For those interested, below is his myspace for some tunes and below that is info on this great new release…

http://www.myspace.com/terrordanjah

“Terror Danjah isn’t a household name, he’s not as well known as Wiley or Dizzee Rascal, but he’s considered by the grime cognoscenti to be the best grime producer ever. The title of the album is a reference to the Gremlin cackle Terror uses as an audio-logo to indicate a Terror Danjah production, much like Timbaland’s singing / beat boxing on his early productions. However, the comparison with Timbaland doesn’t stop there; both producers worked with a signature palate of sounds, adding to them occasionally, which make their productions instantly recognisable; both use shifting, syncopated rhythms. What makes Terror different was that he’s British, he works around the 140bpm tempo, and his music is part of the aggressive post-garage movement of grime. These tracks were mostly issued on limited vinyl releases on the Aftershock label, as either instrumental tracks for DJs to play or as backing for MCs and singers. If you want to hear a precursor to Joker, and the new Bristol producers, here it is. Despite the pared down palette he uses, Terror’s productions are full of brilliant ideas, complex rhythms and pop hooks and until now, despite being lauded by those in the know, he’s been under-appreciated. This collection of his instrumentals, remixes and tracks for others, is a good chance to show off his singular genius to the rest of the world.”

Oh yeah I also scored a copy of The Cramps “Off The Bone” on vinyl the other day complete with 3D glasses to appreciate the cover in full!

The Cramps.

That takes me back.

Haven’t listened to those guys in ages. Was a bit of a fan in the late 80s then forgot them.

A shame whatsisname passed away.

Songs The Lord Taught Us was beautiful. I purchased it in '87 and it’s STILL mint. Took good care of it!

A shame whatsisname passed away.
