What are you listening to right now?

Here in NY, it says at 11:24PM…11 degrees feels like -9 with 22 mph winds. It’s brutal out there.

Currently -6c here in frosty Espoo (helsinki). Half an hour ago I went out to put the garbage out and nearly froze my asses off. Won’t do it again. Currently sitting here on my own by the fire, watching the trees in the nearby woodlands sway back and forth and enjoying some pulla (Finnish donut) and cinnamon egg nog and listening to:

The Damned - Phantasmagoria
Danzig - Danzig II Lucifuge
Helloween - The Time Of The Oath
Holy Terror - Mind Wars

I think the -45 and -50 is with wind chill. Too cold to be outside regardless.

It’s not as windy this morning but it’s -22 with wind chill here right now. Winds have calmed down to around 20MPH. It was worse yesterday. Actual temp is 1F.

People lost power in the area. Fortunately, we still have power where I’m at. I do have a generator I can use to power the furnace periodically if necessary.

good luck, sir.

Appreciate the good wishes.

While I don’t care for the howling winds and zero degree cold, it’s winter here in the Big Mitten. The temps are more like mid/end January but it’s not unheard of this time of year. Worst part is the darkness, that gets very old. And even that is improving since winter solstice by a couple minutes a day.

Once the “sun” comes up, it’s off to shovel both my and my neighbor’s drive and walk. It is a white Christmas.

Anything frusciante related, just pre-ordered his new solo vinyl and cd via bandcamp. 320’s included.
Vinyl has a vinyl only track.
Cd is longer because there are sounds that can’t be pressed on vinyl.
Both come out Feb 3rd.

Rollins Band- Come In and Burn

SUCH an underrated album. I only saw them live once – when they toured with Helmet & Sausage, God what a bill – and they only played tracks from “Weight.” I wish I could have seen them in their prime. They were good, though! Someone threw a shoe at Rollins. He caught it, waved it in the air, and said, “Someone’s going home with a limp.”

Yeah definitely my favorite in the Rollins Band discography…Melvin Gibbs bass sound is just immense…that sounds like a great Bill when you saw them …I’m assuming that’s Les Claypools Sausage?

Yep! They opened, then RB, then Helmet. Fucking amazing show. The best show I ever saw at Roseland NYC, come to think of it, and I used to see shows there all the time…

Over the last few days just bumming around the house, pigging out on food (leftovers) and listening to:

Butthole Surfers - Electric Larryland
Temple Of The Dog - Temple Of The Dog
Skid Row - Subhuman Race
Amorphis - Eclipse
Bathory - Twilight Of The Gods
Manowar - Hail To England
Santana - Abraxas

Captain Beefheart- Trout Mask Replica

This is an example of something I rolled my eyes at for my whole life until a few years ago when I gave it a try again and it suddenly clicked and then I realized it was indeed artistic genius.
