What are you listening to right now?

Thats the new one coming out, does it hold up to the well known hits?

PIG - Drugged Dangerous & Damned - EP

Stabbing Westward - I Am Nothing - EP

I’ve only listened once, but at this moment I’d say it’s like the Abba equivalent of Black Sabbath’s “13” or Heaven And Hell’s “The Devil You Know”. Not as good as the classics, but probably way better than a decades-later reunion has any right to be. There were a couple of moments that reminded me of what pop-music geniuses Benny & Bjorn really are.

Mastodon - 2021 - Hushed and Grim

Just ordered the deluxe thingy from Burning Shed…hope they tour the US…I wonder if his decision to reunite with them had anything to do with the poor reception that The Future Bites seems to have received…I really though he put PT to bed for good…never say never I guess…

I decided at the last minute to see The Rolling Stones in Vegas tomorrow, so I’m catching up on song titles in their recent set lists that I’m not familiar with.

Just now hearing Stabbing Westward I am Nothing track now turned up!

That sounds like a show to go to. As a kid I didn’t care much for the Stones but finally warmed up to them.

I didn’t hear the track but I saw the artwork for the album and it looked great…

Have fun at the Stones show,G…

My friends are coming up from Mexico to see them, and when I found out they had GA Floor tickets I jumped on StubHub to join the party, haha.

I’ve never seen 'em and, was semi-indifferent to them growing up, but goddamn, they have so many absolute monster hits that all of us know (and some awesome deep cuts too) and it’s seriously incredible that they are still kicking ass. I’m really glad to be able to catch this one.

Gonna be different without Charlie that’s for sure…

Yeah!! Charlie was my favorite too.

Holy shit.
I just woke up in Vegas after a night of complete perfection from those guys. I was absolutely blown away. I’ll probably give a fuller write up later but… they are just unreal. Mick, especially. He’s got some of the same DNA as Alice Cooper, I guess, because this motherfucker is 78 and moves and SOUNDS as good as ever. He can yell and scream with full power and intensity and there has been ZERO degradation of his voice. And I was dancing with my friends and other burnouts the whole time and we got totally destroyed. But Mick doesn’t even break a sweat.

Keith Richards is a bit slower and cautious physically and seems more aware of his age, but it hasn’t affected his sound and talent. In a live case it really shines just has iconic and unmistakable his playing is. He’s influenced thousands or millions in style and tone and such, but when you hear HIM, it’s just transcendent because it’s like, "Holy shit! That’s Keith! He’s doing his thang and the real deal is just incomparable to anything else.

The setlist was pretty extensive. I knew MOST of the songs, and even the few I wasn’t familiar with, were very Stones sounding and had easy to grab onto melodies and hooks and such so I never felt lost by any of it.

Isn’t it great when you go see a band and they COMPLETELY surprise you by how amazing they are? Happened to me with GNR a couple of years ago. I went in with low expectations and was steamrolled by how awesome the show was.

YES!!! Absolutely! And I had the same experience with G’n’R too. I went with Grumpy to celebrate his birthday so I was kinda “along for the ride” with respect to the show, but holy shit, Axl and the boys absolutely killed it!

The other thing about the Stones which really shined through was how much they obviously LOVE performing. These dudes have more money than God, and although they get paid ridiculous sums to continue, they sure as hell do not have to, and they are the exact opposite of other Dino-Rockers that just go through the motions for the money stacks. Keith addressed the crowd before doing two songs that he sang on and it just came across so heartfelt and sincere that I found myself really moved by it, and I’ve only been a “casual fan” up to now. He talked a bit about what a shit year it was leading up to this and how much he missed everyone and playing. And they gave a few really sweet tributes to Charlie too. All in all, it really was one of those shows that really changed how I saw and felt about a band and elevated my own levels of fandom, appreciation, and respect.

I never thought we would see PT again either. The way Steven is positioning this is that they have been working on this for a while. That doesn’t make sense since all of his previous interviews negatived ever getting back together. Maybe he felt to get back to his roots since going the pop route. Nevertheless, I’m really happy about this. I never saw them live so I super excited to get a chance when they come over.

I was front row center for steel wheels tour at indy.
Was the catering runner for voodoo lounge show, ill never forget going to a tool supply house to pick up 3000 worth of concentrated gatorade.

Steel wheels was all original members and a perfect performance.
Theres a upi or ap photo somewhere of me in the front row wearing my black leather steel wheels biker jacket. $500.00 bucks, merch had to scan my cc like 10 times because of purchase limit.

Saw them on The Incident tour…it was incredible even though I know SW thinks of that as one of their weaker albums…glad they are back…they can’t tour soon enough…

Steel Wheels was about the same time they had that tour with G’n’R, I believe. At the time I was just a dopey teenager and I was thinking it was an odd pairing to have these old guy dino-rockers playing with this hot new aggressive top-of-their-game metal band (I wasn’t into G’n’R either, but they did feel “current” at least). It’s embarrassing to think back now since 30+ years later THe Rolling Stones are STILL crushing all the bands 1/2 or 1/3 their age. And the pairing of the two cross-generational heavyweights makes complete and total sense to me now.
