What are you listening to right now?

Fugazi
Alice Coltrane
Depeche Mode

UFO- Force it
UFO-Lights Out
UFO-Obsession

Fuck yeah!
UFO RULES!!!
“Lights Out” is probably my favorite track. But as a Maiden fan “Doctor Doctor” holds a huge prominence in my heart too, hahaha. When that first chord slams in I’m already losing my mind and going nuts with a bunch of other psychos, haha.

Yeah I’ve been on a UFO/Michael Schenker Group/ Scorpions tear of late…I have the 10 cd box set of UFO Crysalis years…all their best shit and a fuck ton of bonus track stuff …there is some really strong material there…(yeah playing cd’s,I know I’m a dinosaur…)

And yeah the Doctor Doctor tradition at Maiden shows has always been so great…love that feeling when those first chords kick in and you know Maiden will hit the stage soon…never gets old…

Pink Floyd…Atom Heart Mother bootlegs

There’s always room for some Floyd.

@queer_bait , i’m taking this opportunity to complement you. you have one of the most diverse musical tastes on this board. kudos to you. you are always posting some wild random shit, i have no idea how you thought to listen to. what’s cool about it, is that you not only have eclectic shit i’ve never heard, you also listen to pop shit that everyone likes.
keep it up, kid.

Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii “director’s cut”

i’ve seen this video a number of times, i ran across this AVI on my server and I popped it in. fan-fucking-tastic. it was strange though, because this “director’s cut” is apparently a fan-made version, i didn’t realize this until i googled. Took me a second to figure out what the hell was going on, i’m watching it, and there’s cuts of the fucking space shuttle, i’m like… there was no fucking space shuttle in 1972 - what the fuck. still good though, they didn’t fuck up the film, just added some cuts here and there. also great to see them in the DSOTM sessions.

Yeah, I watched Pompeii last week for the first time…it was great. It was the directors cut as well.

Heh. I’ve been listening to a fuckton of early Floyd lately. Anything from pre-Piper to Meddle is fair game. I got my hands on most of the disc in The Early Years box set (including the mp3 soundtrack to Pompeii); truly revelatory stuff.

Also just downloaded the new Mr. Bungle “single.” Gonna be playing that on heavy repeat. I think it’s safe to say that I’m more excited for Bungle’s new album than I was for Tool. Tool, we knew was coming, eventually. Bungle is a surprise, seeing as it’s been over 20 years…

Mr. Bungle! Hell yeah, I haven’t heard Easter Bunny in almost 20 years, and I can’t wait to hear the new, improved version! Pre-ordered the CD from the Ipecac bandcamp page today!

I’ve never listened to Mr. Bungle. Isn’t it the lead singer from Faith No More? What kind of music is it? What’s good place to start with them?

Yes, Mike Patton from Faith No More. They are very much an acquired taste. They started as a hardcore punk/thrash band. The single Lowelly mentioned is a cover of an Exploited song. The Easter Bunny release is a re-recording of their original demo, also very punk. And they’ve added Dave Lombardo (Slayer) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) to the current line up.

Their other releases are all over the place genre-wise. Circus music, jazz, Middle Eastern, thrash. . .it’s all in there. The only album I actually like of theirs is California, but it is a masterpiece. Every track on there is just amazing.

I’d say start there. If you don’t like that, you most likely won’t like the others.
