Well part of reaching godlike status is not being around when you start to decline. With that said, I agree he achieved a lot in that time frame.
What he did with the guitar was fucking sacred, and i get the feeling that when people listened to his music they werent just jumping on the bandwagon, but truly into the music, i mean who can deny that great guitar. the feedback. the goodness. I know i cant.

and I just got the new u2… btw totally fucking weird seeing 4 versions of an album in a store… a reg plastic case cd, a digipak with a bunch of extra photos for 10 more, a magazine size paperback book w/the cd, and a hardcover box w/the cd and a dvd… i can’t really say what’s inside them all cause they weren’t labeled at best buy and the employees aren’t about to let you open the plasic to check out the pics.
