[reply]Actually I think it was Possession that Zorn was on…memory getting rusty in my old age…
Yes Possession is the one that Zorn features on.
Anatomy of Addiction is my favorite of theirs (and in fact one of my favorite ‘heavy’ albums period), but Possession has some terrific moments.
I haven’t given a shout-out to Lou Cicciotelli here yet; the guy is a great percussionist who really added some major flair to the God records, and could smoothly transition from their psychotronic nightmare world to slightly more ‘chill’ work in Laika and Eardrum.[/reply]
Yeah,Lou is a real talented cat…I definitely love Laika and my familiarity with Eardrum is basically from various comps(the Marco Dub Infection comps and a couple of others)and the album Side Effects which I found to be just tremendous…ambient Afro-Beat meets Can…I think I will go listen to that now…!
Over the last weeks though I’ve been thrashing a really insane comp called African Scream Contest which features obscure late 60s early 70s African psychedelic rock/funk…it’s kind of jaw-dropping such is the quality of the music…
The other album I’ve been really loving recently is a reissue of a 1968 album called Dreams & Images by a guy called Arthur. It was produced by Lee Hazlewood. I love Lee to bits so picked it up because his name was on it…it’s a real beauty…entrancing stuff…

Eardrum’s “Last Light” is pretty exceptional; a broader palette of sounds than you might expect from just hearing their contribution to the MDI comp.
94" Damn! That’s a big ass record!
Full blooded humongous.[/reply]
I have to throw away all my piddly 12",10" and 7"'s now!!! I feel so inadequate…[/reply]
Even though some DJs prefer the 94" format because it’s easier to “read” the grooves on them, trying to be a scratch-master with one of those must be absolute hell.
They put 94" records on a big turntable in Rockefeller Center every winter and people can ice skate along the grooves to hear the latest tunes. It’s really special.
