Haha I’ve been seeing a lot of Biz Markie on Yo Gabba Gabba recently…that show is my go to for my 1yr daughter…her eyes light up and she goes into a trance as soon as that opening music begins until the show ends.
I’m just listening to the 1999 self titled debut by Beta Band. It’s kind of genius…as all their stuff kind of was.

Sly & Robbie kill it on Nightclubbing. I haven’t actually checked out the job on the remaster yet. I remember when I was super young my dad used to drive me around Wellington with Grace Jones Nightclubbing on loop in the car stereo. It sounds just as fresh & deadly today as the day it came out. Speaking of Grace & deadly…have you heard the new tune she did that was on the recent Hunger Games sequel Peligro? It’s called Original Beast and it’s…well…an original beast! She has a new record coming soon…Sly & Robbie aren’t on it but she is super happy with her personnel and so am I after hearing Original Beast.
