Is that new? How is it? I try to check in with VNV every few years, when they’re good they’re amazing.
I’m listening to the Iron Lung Corp album that was recommended on the cocksure thread. It’s really good so far. The industrial cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Intruder” is amazing.

Eh, it’s OK.
I don’t think I could tell the last three albums apart from each other, honestly.

Sounds like another pass from me. If they out out a singles collection of the past four albums, i would probably pick it up.

What’s that? Sounds pretentious.
Just kidding. I checked it out. Sounds like fun for a groupie rape or two…
Do you like that album? I’ve given it a half dozen listens and find it a little impenetrable compared to previous releases.
I find it pretty decent, but not a patch on Halcyon Digest.
Currently listening to:
Rollins Band - Hard Volume
Gwar - Violence Has Arrived
Mr Bungle - s/t

Slab! (1987)
Okay, there’s this noise guy I know, Jigsaw Rhetoric, who also plays in this metal band that has kind of blown up a little in the last year or so, Everything Went Black. Well now he went and joined another “blackened doom” band The Lion’s Daughter, who apparently just recorded a full album collaboration with “somber folk” band Indian Blankets. Album drops Nov. 15, and based on the one song they are streaming, this is my most anticipated record of the moment. Super impressed:

I’d like to kick Thelonious Monk, too. He’s not even a real monk!

None less Monk-y.
