Heeyyy, guurrrrlfriennnndd…!

Eric Hall. He’s pretty much top of the heap in St. Louis’s noise/experimental/improv/ambient scene. He’s just released every live recording of his solo sets from 2005 - 2010 on bandcamp- individually for free, or all 67 (!) tracks PLUS BONUS TRACKS for $22.50 That is a hell of a deal at $1/hour! It’s all real quality stuff, too. Eric tends more to the chillout side of things, so even if you don’t dig on “noise” don’t be scared of this guy, he’s really good!

Check it out:

I recommend starting with numbers 24, and 25, both from the LEMP Arts Center in October 2008. 24 is a chilled out dubby affair that was a huge breath of fresh air in the middle of that year’s NoisefeSTL. 25 kinda reminds me of Coil.

There’s so much to dig through here…

been stuck on a Social Distortion kick last couple of days.

I’ll get you that movie I was telling you about last time. It’s called “Another State of Mind”. It’s old school poverty-stricken punk rock excellence.

Cool!
I’d certainly like to see that based on title alone.

Man, I don’t know how he does it but I love How Mike Ness totally captures that 50’s greaser feel in his music. Is it the Sound of the guitar? is it that drum beat? I don’t know but he’s good at it!

Rusty: I don’t know if you are rockin’ an old VHS boot of if you got the DVD re-issue, but the new version has a “commentary” with Mike Ness and some guy from the Vandals . . . . It’s HILARIOUS!!! Mike continues to wince at his parts and is so cynically embarrassed, it’s awesome . . . . “Oh, Geez!! What the f**k am I saying here? God I look like an asshole!”

And, yeah! Cadillac Tramps were great (haven’t heard of 'em for a million years, though). “LALALALIFE on the ehh-edge!!!”

2 signed copies of evilive 2, a bunch of different signed LPs/EPs from all different lineups, some picks, a drumstick, shirts galore, a few shoeboxes of old VHS boots (including the three episodes of the video hosting show jerry and doyle did), a bunch of cassette tape live boots, the jerry and doye action figures, a buncha shit emblazoned with the danzig/samhain skull, so on and so forth…

i grew up literally across the street from michael graves, and spent a lot of time with family right outside of lodi. the only 2 misfits members (besides brain, he doesnt count) that i havent gotten to meet are Diane (though she doesnt really count either) and this new drummer Goat/Chupacabra.

but like i said, thats nothing special for a punk from Jersey, we are raised to love/know/see the fits. haha.

M83 - Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming

Year of No Light - Ausserwelt

Irezumi - Endurance

Harvestman - In a Dark Tongue

Maybe the third greatest record ever.

I don’t remember the name of the band (something I found on YouTube), but the song is called “My Name Is Hate” and I think it’s awesome. Check out the killer bassline in it.

Oh, the band is called “Kill Baby, Kill” and they might be my new favorite band.
