What are you listening to right now?

The new Shackleton Fabric…DEVASTATING!!! I may have to bump the O.G. thread on it. It’s a thing of pure beauty.

I’m playing tons of 80’s pop today.

Yazoo - Don’t Go
Depeche Mode - Nodisco
Red Flag - Broken Heart

and threw in some Ministry just for kicks.

Ministry - Work For Love

The last week or so I have been playing the new Sore Eros album “Know Touching” over & over & over & over again. I need to take it easy just in case I thrash it to death.

It’s pure bliss.

Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream

Entombed - Clandestine

The remastered Plastic Ono Band album…sounds great too.

Tobacco - Maniac Meat. WOW, I love this. Sleazy synth bass, loud and melodic synth tones and some tones that reminds me of Chrome and Cabaret Voltaire.

The Kinks - The Village Green Preservation Society. Up there with anything Lennon and McCartney wrote.

Candlemass - Nightfall. Giving this album a second chance after an offputting first listen. Charms you after a while with its upbeat doom (that’s right) and Messiah’s unique vocalizing.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui X.Y.O - Their unfairly maligned last album. There’s a lot of quality to be heard, in my opinion, namely the last ten minutes of Motherfucker = Redeemer.

Scored some great tunes in a shitty month.

Leaether Strip - Retention No. 3
Shellac - 1000 Hurts
Cyberaktif - Uhhh… Something with Blixa on it
Ministry - 12" Singles
Def Jam 15th Anniversary Box

I swear to God, there’s a heroin addict in town selling all his industrial and dronal stuff to pay for his habit, and I’m reaping the benefits.

Also got this just because of the artwork.

Epic.

The Byrds - Notorious Byrd Brothers

Bee Gees - Horizontal

Also got this just because of the artwork.

Epic.

HAHAHAHA!!! I would’ve done the same.

What kind of music is it? There used to be an old NWOBHM band back in the day called Praying Mantis . . .

That skull would make for a sick tatt.

GRight now I’m seeing X live in ventura. Aren’t these smartphone s great?

X are great!!

Right now listening to:

Controlled Bleeding - Songs From The Ashes

Controlled Bleeding - Penetration

Controlled Bleeding - The Drowning

yep! Lots of Controlled Bleeding.

Foetus - Ache

My first time hearing it, actually. Not so sure about it, it feels a bit lighter and sillier than his others?

Killing Joke.

First time I’m listening to them. What a crime! This shit is excellent!

Ministry’s Worthless sounds exactly like Complications, specially the voice.

Congratulations, Miguel.
You’ve taken your first step into a larger world.

P.A.L. - After Hour Sounds.

Minimalist industrial drone. Really fucking huge. A++ would listen again.

Deftones - Bloody Cape

Killing Joke.

Wait, you’ve never heard Killing Joke before? Never? Ever?Fuck me. That’s insane.

That’s like the time I was chatting to a fellow record collector who is into more or less the same kind of music I like and I happened to mention John Zorn…

Me: Yeah, so like, I’m really digging a lot of the Filmworks series that Zorn’s been doing lately. I think I’m going to invest in…

Friend: Who?

Me: Whaddaya mean who? Zorn. Dude, John Zorn.

Friend: Who?

Me: You’re kidding right? John Zorn.

Friend: Whatever. I can’t have heard of everything.

Me: Yeah but, dude…forget it.

Been listening to quite a lot of Bill Laswell recently. Thurston Moore’s latest solo album, ‘Trees Outside The Academy’ vinyl turned up in the mail the other day, so that’s been on high rotation as has Circle, that Finnish krautrock/metal/prog band.

Been listening to quite a lot of Bill Laswell recently.

Respect.

That guy rules.
