DNA found at the scene matched that of John Mark Byers, step father of murder victim Christopher Byers, and that of Terry Hobbs, step father to murder victim Stevie Branch, a man described by some as a “terrifying psychopath”.
A bite mark on one of the boys matched that of John Byers (who at the time of the murders was under Federal investigation for a number of serious offences) who had an unusually shaped mouth and crooked teeth. He was also competently skilled with cutting tools from working as a jeweller for some time. It was found in the autopsy report that whoever castrated Christopher Byers could possibly have had a knowledge of such cutting implements - due to precisive nature of the cut involved.
I never kept up with this case so forgive the question…
So after all of that, these dudes are free now, and no charges have ever been filed against these step fathers? any news if there will be?
No charges have ever been filed against either step father.
And the case is now “closed”.
Yeah there was a bite mark. I believe that it was discarded at the time of the autopsy as being “irrelevant”, or something along those lines.
How the fuck can a BITE MARK on a friggen murder victim be classified as irrelevant?? If the teeth marks do not fit with any of the three accused…doesn’t that tell you something?!? I’m not even a freakin…lab guy or whatever the fuck and it makes sense to me.
What a joke.
DNA tested on strands of hair found at the scene match the DNA profile of one of the step fathers of the boys. This step father was NEVER considered a prime candidate as potential suspect at any stage…if you can believe that. Yet his DNA is found on two strands of the rope which was used to bind the boys.
It’s funny, I watched that Paradise Lost dvd - the documentary about the West Memphis 3 trial - and in one scene, the prosecution brings in, as a witness, a “professor” (whom we later find out never even got his diploma) to give the court a testimony on the role that Satanic worship may have played in the murders. And the reasons given for bringing in this “professor” as a credible witness to testify before a grand jury…he had once read a book on Satanism and Witchcraft.
I was just looking at the wiki for the wm3 and I saw the paradise lost reference so i was just about to search netflix to see if it was an instant view. (it’s not [:(])
Thanks for the nfo

With all the evidence and ridiculous shit that went down in the court room considered… sometimes, I get this feeling things are just ‘meant’ to happen.
I mean… looking aside from the fact that it was another case of Christian scapegoating taken to the next level, I really can’t think of a rational explanation as to how all the credible evidence was ignored and why completely unreliable testimonies were even considered. With the amount of retarded calls involved with this case, I can’t help but wonder if for all our supposed freedom of choice we really are bound to fate.

I guess if you say “Praise Jesus” enough in those parts, folks start attributing credibility to you.

I had (rather filthy) sex to that song last Friday night.
No wind up - just thought I’d share what an otherworldly experience bonking with that song playing in the background was. Especially when the girl involved not only has never heard that kind of music before but can barely speak the language (she’s Japanese). I think I took her to places in her mind she never expected to be taken to. Really freaked her out.
Hope she talks to me again.
I have no idea why I just shared that with you all.
