There is no Gerda. Paul Barker is gay and hired the girl at Wax Trax! to be his fake wife. Where do you think Tom Cruise got the idea. The person you think is Gerda is actually named Lois Bergerstein and played the accordian in her high school band. She got the job at Wax Trax because Danny was a big accordian fan and used to check her out at recitals. In fact, Paul was Danny’s original man-love. After Paul was introduced to Al and Al decided to turn to women, Paul wanted to also have a token woman and thats when Lois became Gerda and they got married. What does “Gerda” get out of this, you ask? Well, fame, to some extent. Of course, she rarely went with Paul on the road since it was a made up marriage but because fame is part of the deal, Paul would give her some tidbits to talk about. Why do you think what Gerda says doesn’t sound real? It’s becaue it is 2nd hand knowledge that Paul sometimes made up. If you wonder about their children, well, they are actually legitimate. Now and then ‘Gerda’ and Paul like to hit the sauce. Things happen. Like kids. Anyway, I only know this because I have been writing a book about all of this and have been living with Al’s ex-wife Patty for the better part of 7 yrs now. Anyway, it will all be in the book so just wait for the rest.
