when you purport to write something related to an interview, make it clear who is at the table and who isn’t.
[red] When you purport to write something related to an interview, make it clear who is at the table and who isn’t. [/red] Well done! The only thing you missed was a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence. Proper comma use, however, makes Poppa proud!
again, paul, bill and chris agreed to this interview with the caveat that al was not a participant.they also knew that he would be interviewed separately.
[red]Paul, Bill, and Chris agreed to this interview with the understanding that Al was not a participant for this specific interview. They did know that Al would be interviewed on a different occasion. [/red] First, you misused the term “caveat.” Dictionary.com defines caveat as being a “warning or caution; admonition.” Furthermore, you contradict yourself. You say they agreed to the interview under the assumption that Al would not participate, only to say that Al would be interviewed. Also, proper nouns need to be capitalized.
that does not give this “journalist” license to create fiction.
[red] Unfortunately, the journalist mislead his readers with the situation. [/red] I have not seen the interview, so I’m not sure how accurate this is. However, I’m pretty sure the questions and answers that were published were indeed the questions and answers given. Fiction means that it isn’t true. Was there any place specifically in the article where the journalist says all of the members were together at the table?
they were not in the same room, same time frame, zero…
[red] The men were not in the same room at the same time. [/red] I’m actually getting tired of pointing out every error. This is quite the task I decided to take on.
i pondered getting back to this board after speaking with ogre or maybe not. some here are smarter than me.
[red] I pondered posting on this board again after I spoke with Ogre. Many on this board are more intelligent than I am, including Lunatic_Genius. [/red] First person pronoun is capitalized. Leave out unnecessary phrases, and while I’m sure you were using verbal irony (sarcasm), I took it upon myself to point out that I am smarter than you.
in the spirit of this interview, concoct your own story.
[red] Because I feel as if the interview was not very well-written, concoct your own story. As always, I sure as hell will not clarify anything or answer any of your direct questions, so you are on your own. [/red] Funny that someone will critique a journalist for not being direct given the circumstances. People in glass houses and all that.
oh “al”. did you forget that you shouldn’t say slanderous/libelous things about your ex partner in crime? hm?
[red] I just wanted to let you know that there is a difference between slander and libel. Slander is via oral communication, while libel is via written communication. I’m surprised I have to teach this to someone who has studied law. [/red]
