Yup, that techno-sounding song they played when the lights came on right before the band came out was pretty cool. Is that the new REVCO song? It sounded sort of like some of the dancier Thrill Kill Kult material. It was good in an early 90s house + industrial sort of way.

Sin posted on the PA site that this is a RevCo song. Go figure. It was pretty cool with the lights and whatnot.
Agree with the Thrill Kill stuff. Heard Gay, Black and Married?
love that francis nardiello and mars.

[hr] Al was really upset over the lack of mosh pit activity at last nights show in Charlotte. Between songs he started mouthing off to the crowd. He called us lame and could not figure out what our problem was. He threatened to play 2 more songs and leave as he “does not play to a golf crowd”
The next song the crowd responded and tore down the fence on the left side of the stage. The fence ended up falling into the crowd hitting some house lights on the way down. The fence did some crowd surfing and some dude actually climbed on top of the fence and did a backflip into the crowd. They eventually got the fence back up on stage, but it was all bent out of shape. Al liked the extra activity, but shortly after the crowd was pissing him off again. He got into it with a few fans and asked people to beat the crap out of them. At first I thought he was trying to get the crowd fired up, but I realized he was really pissed off.
The main set was about the same as the other set lists I have seen posted. They did only one encore of just 3 songs (NWO, Just 1 Fix, Thieves) The Fear Factory guy sang NWO and they both sang Just 1 fix and Thieves. That was it. Some stage hand came up on stage and made the throat slash gesture to the tech booth stating they were done. They obviously cut it short. The show was less than 1 1/2 hours. It was still fucking great to see them and worth the 3 hour drive and hotel from Raleigh. This was the 5th time I saw Ministry and I will say that this was the least amount of moshing I have seen. I did get to shake hands with Sin after the show in the tour bus area so that was cool.
sounds like the crow sucked.
i wouldnt wanna come back onstage 2 more times to facea bunch of shit fans (with some real ones thrown in)
if the crowd sucks, the band isnt gonna want to play. fuck that.
i’m with the band here. make it fun for them, or they’ll kill it for you.

Yeah and to think Brandon Lee died for the stupid thing. Sad.

A guy who loves writing anti-war songs demands pointless, conformist violence among his fans?
I never understood the appeal of moshing at shows, and I’m sure Ministry still has lots of other non-metal fans who don’t get it either. When did it become standard for Ministry? Late '80s or early '90s? I bet there was no mosh pit on the first few Ministry tours, at least.
Nah, the moshers used to fuck things up like crazy during “She’s Got a Cause”. Strange but true, people lost teeth, police were called.

[cool]
Great soundtrack though. I actually went and got a few albums from some of the bands on there that I hadn’t heard of before (love not lisa, machinesof loving grace…) shame the rest of their stuff aside from the soundtrack song sucked.
The movie isn’t fabulous, I still love it though. The inner goth in me maybe.

it is an OK soundtrack. and i LOVED the crow… have for years. my dad loved it so he showed it to me when i was a youngun’
i meant CROWD in my first post, but i think it was obvious. haha.
soundtrack was only ok though cus it had some real bullshit on there, like STP.
I mean no shit that the crowd was shitty. Surprised it’s the only one to be considered “shitty” in the first place. The setlist is still shitty, so it was only a matter of time until the fans would somewhat revolt. The show is still a rip off, so I don’t blame them. And Al should have seen this coming when deciding that setlist, and it surely wouldn’t surprise me if this happens again either.
At most, I’d give this show a C. Short, unenthusiastic, and a shitty setlist. At least it’s good to hear that the Atlanta show the following night was somewhat better.
The main problem–again, going just by the Charlotte show–was that the crowd was seemingly comprised of 1/4 metalheads who were just there to mosh & tear shit up, 1/2 old-time Ministry fans like myself who were pissed at the lame setlist & lack of old songs. Tthe last 1/4 of the crowd was probably just a random mix of kids looking for somewhere to go on a Thursday night with a few gothlings thrown in for good measure.
I’ll wager that the kind of crowd Al was hoping for (rowdy, die hard Bush-hating, post-Paul Ministry fans) was definitely not in attendance at this show…or any other. Here’s hoping that Al throws the longtime fans a bone or two at one of the Chicago shows and breaks out at least We Believe or Stigmata.
Austin -was- a great show.
They dropped So What and Roadhouse Blues from the Orlando set list. It was still a good show and no complaints.
No matter where the show is, if a band is charging $35+, then there is absolutely no reason that they should expect for the fans to be there for THEM, for their entertainment. Fuck that!!! I was really excited about this show, until I started reading previous setlists, and decided to not buy a ticket. Someone offered me a free ticket at the last minute though, so I went. Obviously I don’t deserve to complain as much as those who paid, but on their behalf, FUCK the Charlotte show. What the fuck do you expect when your ENTIRE main setlist is comprised of mediocre, newer songs that almost all rely on the 7 year old/tired subject of Bush-bashing. Al acted like a fucking whiny rockstar. When is the last time he worked extra hours at some shitty job just so he could spend $35+ for a ticket, plus $3.50+/gallon for gas to drive to wherethefuckever to see some band that he loved, only for that band to tell you that they think you suck, and give a shitty setlist that ended way too quickly. Terrible way to end the career of a previously incredible band.
And for the record, I was screaming “anal fuckfest!!!” at the top of my lungs, but no “So What.” Maybe I would have gotten to hear it if someone had broken my nose.
