The Worst Albums in Your Collection...

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Thank you, Peligro!

I’ve never heard the album, but posting those lyrics and the description really helps me feel its awfulness.

And you didn’t even touch on the unacceptable cover art.

That album cover looks like something on the wall of a hotel room on Miami Beach…

  1. Marilyn Manson - Smells Like Children

Crap remix album.

  1. Ministry - Greatest Tricks

Lame production with even lamer covers.

  1. Rammstein - Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da

Cheap re-hash of mutter.

then I pick this:

What the fuck happened to these guys?!?!

Well, I’m not sure what exactly you think “happened” but I’ve always enjoyed each and every Cathedral release over the years, although the quality certainly does dip here and there (hello Supernatural Birth Machine).

The Guessing Game was certainly not one of their best lyrically but musically it’s quite good. Granted, some of it is a little silly at times and poor old Dorrian never had the best singing voice and was always a much better growler in my opinion.

I’d give it a solid 6 out of 10.

As for the worst albums in my collection -

The Doors - Full Circle

An album the other three made after Jim’s untimely death. It’s…best left alone. Don’t go there.

The Residents - Have A Bad Day

Awful shit by a band that has pumped out too much filler in the last 20 years or so. Way too much filler. This is bad, even by post-classic Residents album standards.

Chaka Khan - Destiny

I don’t remember buying this. Alright I do remember but…hell there was a time when Chaka was choice!

Suede - Dog Man Star

Friend of mine some time ago told me to check these guys out because they were “the future of British music”. They weren’t. Plus it has some nude bloke on the front cover.

The Streets - Original Pirate Material

Can’t see what all the fuss is about. This guy is supposed to be some modern day urban poet. The fuck?

Peeping Tom - Peeping Tom

Mike Patton. The man, the myth. There are few more polarizing artists than he (alright, well maybe Burzum). I for one generally love the guy - an artist who can move seamlessly through almost any genre he decides to and has the smarts to pull it off. Unfortunately this time round he falls completely flat as he tries to reinvent himself as a hip hop (trip hop?) with alarming results. It’s just bad. Tried to get into it but couldn’t. To this day I have made it all the way through on only two occasions which really speaks volumes I think. Avoid.

Michael Jackson - Invincible

Clearly Michael, you are anything but.

Mission Of Burma - Vs

I know you are supposed to love this album if you are a lover of “serious” alternative and art/rock music but I always thought it was a load of atonal bollocks.

Oh I almost forgot:

Duran Duran - Red Carpet Massacre

NOOOOO!!!

I think I have a P.O.D. album around here somewhere that i bought when I was like 12 or 13 during one of my nu-metal phases hahaha. Talk about embarrasing and worst!!

Ministry - Rio Grande Blood (at least this scared me off of buying the next two)

Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent (headache from the first listen)

Mastadon - The Hunter (the beer coaster)

Those are all good albums, you must have the greatest album collection ever if these are the worst. Well, either that or you have really terrible taste in music [:)]

The fact these guys spent almost 30yrs apart then made something as awesome as Absolute Dissent is incredible. Coolest band ever.

Yeah, unless you live in the US and try to see one of their concerts…

OK, instead of Absolute Dissent as being one of the worst in my collection, I’ll change that to RUSH - Vapor Trails. I also bought Huey Lewis & The News - Sports on vinyl back in the day.

Absolute Dissent sounds like it was recorded under water.

I was going to see the the Killing Joke movie “Death & Resurrection Show” in a NYC screening and the movie was not delivered to the venue. Typical KJ management.

Hahaha classic KJ. Were you guys actually sitting in the cinema when the announcement was made? KJ made it to the States and kicked it’s ass last year didn’t it? Also…has that doco actually been released yet?

I have Absolute Dissent on vinyl & cd and it sounds fine on my sound system.

I also bought Huey Lewis & The News - Sports on vinyl back in the day.

That absolutely sums them up! People are excited to see what they do and it somehow doesn’t happen. I had a KJ show cancelled on me very close to the date it was to take place on. Apparently they weren’t to blame for that one, the venue were told that although KJ had agreed initially to play, they’d cancelled very quickly after that when it was clear they wouldn’t be able to do it. The venue - apparently - didn’t tell anyone this and kept selling tickets. I don’t know what the truth was but there were a lot of pissed off fans, as usual.

This is a WORST albums thread. not a COOL VINYLS you bought back in the day!
Nobody should ever be talking shit about Huey EVER!

“Sorry fellas, you’re just too darn loud.”

The KJ movie was going to be shown at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn and the cancellation happened right before people were let in.

I also went to Philly during the KJ 2003 tour to with my brother and Jaz cancelled right before the show because he was sick.

Huey video is excellent.

Vapor Trails is my least favorite…they just put out a remix version which makes the release sound better.
