The Worst Albums in Your Collection...

“95 cents? Fuck that, I’ll skate to the beach! And I’ll…look better gettin’ there!”

Missing Persons - Rhyme & Reason (the most crushing sophmore slump ever after the brilliant Spring Session M)

Ministry - Rio Grande Blood (at least this scared me off of buying the next two)

Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent (headache from the first listen)

Helmet - Seeing Eye Dog

Luscious Jackson - Fever In Fever Out (one good song)

Mastadon - The Hunter (the beer coaster)

Lords of Acid - Deep Chills

Monster Magnet - God Says No, Mastermind

Numb - Christmeister

Well, when I was staying at the Wynn Las Vegas last month (I was in town to see Alice Cooper) I apparently decided at some time during or after a bender that I should buy a GARTH BROOKS 3DISC COLLECTION.

I’ve never really been a Garth Brooks fan and only could name one of his songs (“Friends in Low Places”). It was a total impulse buy at the gift shop. Garth has a residency performing at the Wynn, and they had his discs for $5 at the checkout (I might later expand on something I learned about this following the incident).

I’m not one of those “I hate country music” guys, and I was actually kind of excited to hear my randomly bought music on my drive home. I couldn’t stand it. It was just intollerable. Even the song I thought I liked I don’t actually like.

One of my friends said she likes Garth so I’m going to be mailing it to her.

Anyway, I currently own a 3 disc Garth Brooks album and I do NOT like it one bit.

The Time - Ice Cream Castles

Don’t tell that to Jay and Silent Bob…

Well, I digitized every CD in my house, regardless of when it was last listened to or if I thought I would ever listen to it again. So I am sure there are some doozies in there, but off the top of my head I will toss it out there that there are, in fact, several Insane Clown Posse albums on my computer. Possibly some Limp Bizkit. Probably some other nu metal garbage from my ex, Staind or some such nonsense.

I actually really really like the old Faith No More stuff with Chuck. The singles were stupid but some of the deep cuts, oh man…

I have this on vinyl. Bought it back in the Purple Rain days. It isn’t a bad album.[/reply]

I just didn’t expect it to sound like Prince with a different vocalist. I know he wrote all the music, but come on. “Jungle Love” and “The Bird” are good, but the rest sound like bad Prince b-sides.

Why don’t we just make this " Bands I Think Are Crap Thread"?

I’ll start…

NIN
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Queens Of The Stone Age
Soundgarden
Muse
Oasis
Moby
Daft Punk
Chemical Brothers
Prodigy
Fatboy Slim…and a million more.

Now let’s turn it into the “Only Band In Planet Who Isn’t Boring Bastards!”…that one’s easy…Sleaford Mods!!!

Oops…add Tool to that crap list.

Been down this road before…

It’s a loaded question, but I’m taking it as “which album in my collection do I most NOT want in my collection, or will never listen to again”.

The reason Garth is my current leader on the board is because I generally toss stuff as soon as I decide it’s garbage.

I’ve got some pretty universally despised stuff in my collection, but I think it’s AWESOME so I’m not going to list them here, even though I’m sure they’ve made MANY critics’ all time worst lists.

William Hung’s “Inspiration” and Hulk Hogan’s “Hulk Rules” are two of the greatest CD’s I own and I am NOT willing to part with them.

Totally.

Shut up! Tool and Nirvana aren’t boring bastards you just don’t “get” it!

Hulk Hogan’s “Hulk Rules”

“Beach Patrol” is one of the funniest songs I’ve ever heard. I imagine you’ve heard Macho Man Randy Savage’s rap album.

Yeah, I don’t own Macho Man’s, but it’s awesome.
EVERY track on “Hulk Rules” is amazing. You should check out “Hulkster In Heaven”. It’s an emotional tear-jerker.

I wish King Kong Bundy would have put an album out…

King King Bundy ruled!!! He’s still out on the indie circuit now making peanuts. I imagine he would’ve released a rockabilly record!

That guy still works? Holy shit…

yeah,Rockabilly sounds about right…

Wow, I must have missed this thread. Usually if I like a band enough to buy more than a greatest hits CD, I usually end up liking their entire discography. But here are a few stinkers that I own. I keep them for either nostalgia or completion purposes.

Marilyn Manson-The Golden Age of Grotesque. (This one gives me a headache listening to it. Besides the intro/outro & title track, it’s 15 tracks of the same boring song.)

Metallica-St Anger. (I actually love Load & Reload, as well as Death Magnetic. I hate the mixing of St. Anger and the songs are lousy. Not much else to say)

Covenant-Europa (This often gets praised as one of their best, but most of the songs are too repetitive and boring. It has a few gems, but is heavily overshadowed by their other works.)

Aerosmith-Nine Lives. (Mostly nostalgia here. Its practically unlistenable. I only take it off the shelf if I want a few chuckles by listening to Pink.)

Front 242-Front By Front. (I think Peligro mentioned this earlier, and I have to agree. I’m a huge 242 fan and this album just blows compared to Geography, Official Version & Up Evil. Headhunter is overplayed and the rest is overrated.)

Madonna-American Life. (I’m one of those rare dudes that digs Madonna. Her 80s stuff is classic and everything except for this album is at least enjoyable. This album just sucks.)

Type O Negative-Life Is Killing Me. (This one is at least growing on me, but it sounds like a collection of outtakes from every other album they’ve done. This feels more like a b-sides collection than a real album.)

I own 1,000+ albums and this all I can think of off the top of my head.

I was just reading up on JUNK YARD DOG on Wikipedia. It broke my heart to read that following his death in 1998 (car crash) he was buried in an unmarked grave (I’m assuming he was flat broke with no provisions made before hand).

Maybe the Wrestling Boot Travelling Band can do a benefit show to raise some money to buy JYD a proper headstone.
