The Squirrely Years Revisited (3/28/2025) and new album in 2026

I’m pretty sure that’s Al singing on Same Old Madness.

It’s cool that Al is revisiting some of the earliest stuff. So much for constantly voicing his disdain for it (at least the pre-Twitch tracks) for decades. But overall this release for me personally is very meh and the original versions are better.

I’m liking this more the more I listen.
He could’ve easily gone with a lazy or ironic approach, but it’s clear he put his full effort into this record and it shows.

I used to wear skeleton gloves like that.
Of course, I stole the idea from Rob Zombie.

Gave this a listen yesterday and liked it a lot better than I expected after hearing the Cruel World set. The production isn’t as good as the originals but I was happy with how earnest the new versions were. I was kind of expecting it to be tongue in cheek. Honestly the WS stuff sounded more like Wax Trax/Twitch era Ministry covering the material than Amerikkkant or Cover Up Ministry. The Twitch material sounded like it could have been rough mixes for b-side remixes at time of release. As a huge fan of Twitch, this is the sort of sound I never expected to hear Ministry return to. Easily my favorite album by them in ages and the first one I imagine regularly returning to since I don’t know when…

Still one of the worst album covers ever.

We’ll see how long “retirement” lasts. sorry to be pessimistic.

“Well, we planned the last one to be the last one, but (insert current event in the socio-political zeitgeist) compelled us to chime in. Plus, Monte Pittman is back, which is a plus.”

Never heard of Ricky’s hand or 'Cause we’re in love again, are they covers?

Ricky’s Hand is a Fad Gadget cover that they used to play live in the 84/86 sets. Cause We’re In Love Again is a Ministry original that was released on the Industrial Accident soundtrack.
