The Chappaquiddick incident was a disgrace and will forever be a blot on Ted Kennedy; he’s most likely responsible for her death and if so should have done serious time for it, there’s no excusing it.

I already pointed out why I think it’s shite. It’s a lame attempt to demonise him. You probably could get 10 valid points to show Ted was not a perfect American hero, but that list does not do it.
But I also do get pissed off when dickheads are glorified after they die. I also dislike the way musicians and other artists get the same treatment because they died young, as if they should be commended for doing so.

Although Clinton made a good try with NAFTA and GATT… what modern republican has EVER tried to help society at large? if any repub had, I’d have nothing bad to say. No, I wouldn’t bring it up (although I did bring up chappaquiddic here) but only if a republican cared enough to try and make things better. IF that repub (or Even Kennedy for that matter) was all that they were known for and had no other agenda other than personal greed/advancement then I’d be all over that guy’s ass! you’d be hard pressed to find a repub that fits that kind of description though, at least at the later end of that incident.

First off, Personal attacks? I don’t personally attack anybody unless I have a specific policy gripe to go with it. Second off, I’m an equal oppurtunity complainer. I can’t stand Rob blagoivich (SP?) anymore than anyone else, he hasn’t done anything to deserve a “pass” on his behavior. Kennedy, I believe, has earned atonement. I’m not far left. Oh, I know I have Bias but only because that bias makes sense to me. Alright, were getting somewhere here. I don’t think you are a repub… I don’t think anyone on the board is a repub (except maybe Peligro but what can he do about that? he is Australian. I’m sure Rupert has Fox news piped into houses in Australia full time down there. They don’t have a choice![:P])
I think we’ve got antagonizers here. The “problem” if you can call it that, that I have, is when people show up to a thread with repub talking points that are tired and old and completely debunked or inches away from being debunked.
I don’t hate all republicans. For instance, my uncle is VERY republican but he doesn’t just parrot some bullshit that Hannity said. It’s an ideology that he actually lives and believes. He’s respectful and he’s completely willing and able to argue his points with out, again, waiting for marching orders from the leaders. I don’t think he listens to rush (too smart for that) but it does bug me that he follows Fox news. So a lot of the times I’m able to call bullshit on him when it comes to social politics.
Currently he’s under the “this is socialism” bullshit. Which was easy to dismantle since he made quite a comfortable living from being a cop (a socialist institution), he’s not ready to forfeit his retirement, or his Medicare.
I generally don’t agree with Joe Scarborough but at least he’s not following a rigid line out there by the RNC and I can respect that. I for the most part like what Lou Dobbs has to say about ILLEGAL Immigration but don’t necessarily care for his antics in delivering his message.
As far as O.J. and Kennedy? Wow that’s quite a stretch. O.J. was a piece of shit murderer at worst. Kennedy was negligent manslaughter at worst. I think Kennedy spent the rest of his life trying to correct that mistake. OJ is spending the rest of his life trying to buck the system and find the perfect golf course. Let OJ rot! Give Kennedy a “nice try and at least you learned something” Can’t see any similarities between the two, but I suppose I could understand why you do.
