Yeah, no NY either…sucks.

Nor Atlanta.

Yeah, no NY either…sucks.

They have got to add more dates…there is no way they won’t play NY…

I can’t believe we got 2 Florida dates…

lol

Metamucil and Colonial Penn Life Insurance present . . . . BLACK SABBATH

and also very disappointed they are not playing the SF bay area for their tour.

They’ll be at Shoreline on 8/26.

Cool I’m there! Although not a fan of the Shoreline Amp…Still gonna go as it may be the last time to ever see Tony Iommi on stage.

They played at the Warfield last time they were here with Dio.

Kinda bummed also they omitted ‘Sweet Leaf’ out of the setlist.

Saw them at Shoreline with Dio. Definitely better than with Ozzy, but not by much. Dio is a good singer, but he was boring as fuck with his long song introductions.

I like “God Is Dead”. It could have been cut down a bit but it’s good.

Also as you mentioned the compression and Ozzy a bit forward in the mix. Though his vocals on this are great.

AWFUL!!

This new material (IMO) is shaping up to be their worst ever. Compared to this dreck. the Tony Martin era is glorious…

Wow.

Dog crap.

Complete dog crap.

That reminds me very much of the Ozzy that we booed in 2005.

I got about 30 seconds max. Ozzy in '05 was even better than that.

Yeah, I’m not so unhappy they’re skipping Atlanta this time.
I’ll still buy the record.

Yeah I was there and can truthfully report that it was every bit as bad as I hoped it wouldn’t be. The new material was especially awkward. Ozzy was zombified throughout much of the performance. Iommi was in fine form - albeit with a few fumbles here and there, but the rest of the band just went through the motions. There was very little “soul” present during the gig. It was dull and lifeless. I’ve seen any number of bar bands that would have shat on that performance.

There were a few highlights (Snowblind, Behind The Wall Of Sleep, Fairies Wear Boots) but mostly it was an utter embarrassment. I left as soon as the encore of Paranoid was over and didn’t even bother checking out the merch table - which I generally do religously.

I’ve never seen a more lifeless act in my life and I’ve seen live performances of the STROKES mind you

This thread has become really depressing…

Just received an email from a buddy who went to the Sabbath gig:

Don’t fret too much that you missed the show. I guess the majority of it was decent enough…except for the new songs. They were literally cringe inducing. Ozzy just mumbled his way through them and looked bored. They were so bad a good 10%-15% of the crowd left to get drinks, etc whenever a new song was played. The new material had some great riffs, but they all went for about 2 minutes too long, and were pretty forgettable. I think this new album is shaping up to be a disaster. It’s really quite sad at this point. They really should have quit a long time ago.

So there you have it.

I don’t doubt they suck live. But they can do 100 takes in the studio to get something worth listening to.

I just found this new track that they played in Brisbane. I’m listening to it now.

I LOVE IT!!!

And I think they all sound proper. And Iommi’s riffs are killer. It sounds totally old school. Sure, it might sound a bit reminiscent of a bunch of songs that they’ve already done . . . but that’s alright by me.

“The End of The Beginning”

EDIT: The ending kind of drags on pointlessly, but other than that, I like it.
