I was just remembering the details on this and I think I was wrong. As I recall, there were like 2 or 3 sets released about 12-13 years back.
The first batch of 2-3 discs were the first B&B cartoons that were (almost 20 years back) put out on VHS. Some of these original releases actually included the videos in their correct show format. Then when they released some later volumes they didn’t get the licensing or were too lazy or something and they did NOT have the videos.
The discs that do have the videos, however, definitely have them in the correct original format.
These sets also, I later came to find out, have the original cuts (minus the fire and such discussed earlier) of the cartoons. When the “Mike Judge Collections” were put out 5 years back or whenever that was, there were a bunch of fans that were pretty pissed off that he had deleted portions of the cartoons or cut them a bit to make them less offensive.
I’m too lazy to look anything up right now, but there’s usually a bunch of exhaustive comments on AMAZON regarding all this.
Anyway, I’ll give 'em to Grumps and he can play around with 'em.
Weird. It must’ve been a local thing in your area. I saw the episode when it aired and there were no such interruptions. Also, the episode has made it to all the subsequent collections released.
I remember being a little surprised at the time with that episode. Not so much that they were ripping on Clinton (sort of, as he actually comes across as a lovable goof) but that they had the “guts” to take some potshots at Chelsea too. She certainly was not drawn attractively and her freckly face, braces teeth, and wild hair were easy fodder.
I wonder if it was a fear of political backlash thing that got the plug pulled locally (or more likely a few irate callers into the local cable station).

I’ll have to look into the last NEW episodes that came out about 2 years ago and see if MTV has issued a DVD for those yet. Also, I’m not sure if I have all of the Judge Collections (I got 3 volumes, but there might have been more, I’m not sure).
I saw some of the new episodes recently. Great return to form. Because everything sucks these days, they’ve got heaps of material to work with, especially when they’re making fun of music videos. And it’s especially awesome since Mike Judge basically sez what everyone’s thinking thru B & B while they’re watching the videos. I like that it’s one of the few genuinely subversive shows out there these days, sort of like how the Simpsons knocks the hell out of Fox knowing fully well it’ll never be dropped and can get away with everything as a result.
Yeah, I think I saw the entire season of the new ones. I was skeptical at first, but they are perfectly in line with the attitude of the originals. Great stuff.
