me either with Radiohead.
Front Line Assembly. Never tried them but the tiny bit I’ve heard…me don’t like!
I felt the need to resurrect this thread because I forgot to mention how much I can’t stand R.E.M…i just heard Losing My Religion in passing and now I’m Losing My Shit…I never understood the appeal of this band…even when people talk to me about the “genius early stuff”…I just could never get into them…Stipe’s voice drives me bonkers and their whole thing just seems so undercooked…
Agree. They fucking suck.
I’ve always despised REM.
I was mad at Bill Rieflin when he joined that shitty band and no matter what anyone says, I’m thoroughly convinced that he died of AIDS just because he got too close to Michael Stipe.
I fuckin’ hate REM. I had a girlfriend that adored everything they did and was part of the fan club and thought “stipe is so handsome.”
Funny to think I had a better chance with him than she did.
Long story short, rem albums played constantly when were together… she would never hold any conversations because she was “too shy” unless it was about stipe then she would gush over him. When she did talk, most shit that came out of her mouth were lies anyway… I’ve never met somebody who talked so little and yet lied so much. the whole situation still rubs me wrong. Which sucks because Automatic for the people was a fantastic album (first album that I recognized had an atmosphere to it), but I haven’t listened to it in 20 years cause of her. I just know if I put it on all that shit from that time will come vividly flooding back into my brain and I’d rather forget. FUCK REM!
I don’t like REM…never did. My friends would be like…dude you gotta listen to their first release…when they got famous…me meh!
i like the early stuff. it was good then. You couldn’t understand what stipe was saying the music was cool. The release were unique.
The later years, yea, they suck. In my opinion, shit started going downhill with “Green” in 1988. Before that, I think they were a great band, with good music.
David Bowie.
I’ve got his greatest hits. I spun it for a number of years, but I never really “got it”. I get it that he’s cool, and I can see that. But his music is all over the place, collaborations and I suppose David directs them, but I just don’t get it.
Anyone way into him?
I never got into him. I like his greatest hits and when he did his thing with Trent, I did go see them together which was fuckin awesome. Other than that…not so much. Trent said Low was the best…got that but didn’t find it to appealing.
Tool
Manson
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Very very much into Bowie(even Tin Machine)…top 5 all time for me,no question…have everything he has released and love all phases although that mid to late 80s shit left me a bit cold…aside from that I’m all in…
Trent was right…
Deep thoughts by Queer Bait: why did the Rev pull a DJ Pon on a thread about the Thin White Duke?
My inner music snob says I should like Bowie, but I barely ever play my Bowie albums. He’s got some excellent tunes here and there though, his track from the Lost Highway soundtrack is no less than fantastic. I also want to check out Black Star, but I haven’t yet.
Black Star is a brilliant record…what a way to go out…as vivrant as ever
Haha! That one had me scratching my head too. Especially since you can just EDIT something. So even if you make some misstep that may cause scorn or side-eye, you can always just correct it.
“I don’t understand why Skrewdriver isn’t more popular . . . [EDIT] . . . Does anyone else like ice cream?”
Skrewdriver hahaha oh man…
I posted something here that belonged in another thread.
So I deleted it and posted it in the right thread instead.
Ima find dat Skrewdriver thread too.
