sort of. Salt Lake City, Utah, Yes. Polygamist, no. the polygamists are a super fundementalist sect of the mormon church. Most regular Mormons don’t associate with polygamists, but they are just as weird in different ways.

I know plenty of Mormon’s. They don’t strike me as being cultish at all. I don’t have a bad thing to say about any of them. They have weird beliefs but I don’t think they are any more weird than believing in Jesus/God/Xenu or any other religous thing.

On the PA, we do take pictures of ourselves, our pets–normal things, crazy things—all within the scope of forum rules. There’s humor. Everything you say isn’t over-analyzed.

That’s REAL LIFE.

Believe me, I deal with more than my share of “real problems.” Except that they’re totally taken way out-of-context or exaggerated into something they are not.

Apparently there are those who have a keen interest in the PissArmy’s R&R thread–like over 13,000 views.

Now, I’m not here to re-hash those issues debated and resolved at length in that thread. In fact, I wish the thread would be taken down.

PissArmy is a place where people can let their hair down, talk to people they’ve met or are friendly with. It’s a social outlet where many have close relationships with one another.

It’s not necessarily a place where an issue like why there may be a dichotomy between the samples on DSOTS and TLORAH would be discussed.

We like Ministry music. We enjoy each other’s company on-line and in-person over many years.

Contrary to popular misconception, we don’t fawn over AL. We don’t agree on all things or fall into place over anything Ministry-related. There’s spirited discussion, but it’s fun because there are personalities who don’t tend to be so stuffy. People can “take the piss” and laugh about it.

People tend to have respect for one another and can vociferously disagree without resorting to intellectually-superior snobbery or flippantly snide remarks.

The reason I posted here is because I like Ministry.

prongs is another Ministry board. Therefore, my comments appear here.

  3. The issues involve harassment for expressing one’s opinions (not by anyone associated with PissArmy; use your imagination).

Obviously with the issues involved in my “life,” I can’t precisely discuss what they are. They are legal in nature. Catastrophic is a helpful hint.

But let me leave you with this:

As regards the PA: I remember posting there about 5 years ago, before Houses came out. There were a few users who seemed ok and did not post stuff like MINISTRY RUUUULLZZZZ!!! all the time. Then I came across this place and found it, well lets just say, a bit more interesting… and tolerant. If someone says something critical of Al or his Mrs. they don’t get shot down with hyper-defensive nonsense. I checked PA 2-3 years ago and it was a bloody mess: CAPS!!! all over the place, and idiots ranting about how cool Al and his Mrs. are… frightful. But thats not to say there were no sound people who still used it.

If its not like that now as Christonabun suggests, well thats grand but it doesn’t change what it was like between Rio and Sucker. And if thats the image people here or anywhere have of the PA you can’t blame them.

Unofficial boards are always a better place: more freedom, less arse licking, more diversity.

My biggest complaint about PA has always been CAPS and avatar size. I only need one Ministry message board to waste time on, so Prongs is the winner for legibility if nothing else.

well, if you’re posting in it, you must think it deserves a reply.

So there is an unofficial Ministry board here at prongs, and an official board over there on the PA.

The main point of this thread is not where you post, but what you post, and the actions that take place afterwards.

You’ll get screwed expressing anything misinterpreted as “subversive” wherever . There’s no safety anywhere. Our government’s powers have gotten far out-of-control.

And if you enjoy having police make sarcastic references about your benign internet posting, then by all means, post away.

There are some out there who still take everything at face-value. Even though they profess otherwise, they are fucking bloody literal-minded.

Due to government actions like the PATRIOT ACT, American’s freedoms and civil liberties have eroded. Any time that freedom is taken away in the name of national security, society suffers. We now live in a society where what we say on obscure forums is monitored. And if your statements deviate just a bit from the norm, you will be unjustly hassled without due process.

Superfical qualities, which may or may not be true, will be viewed as the truth. They will be mocked. And all this lovely tolerance supposedly supported here on prongs will be decimated.

prongs is also a potential target.

Therefore, I ask you: does prongs favor this trend?

he’s right you know. I remember i got stopped a few times driving cause the coppers were mad that we here at prongs were makign jokes about al’s dreadlocks and doo-rag. I got a citation for spelling doo-rag dew-rag and was let off with a warning… however when we hatched our plot to do an undercover de-ragging at an instore signing, soon afterwards one of our own had dissapeared. it was increasingly becoming evident that this here was no mere man behind a band commenting of the incompetance of a president on several albums of varying quality… oh no… the real al died after the “spider bite”. I’m not at liberty to say what is happening as of right now. but i’ve got some kay-ray-zee ideas a breqing that’ll make david icke look like… oh nevermind they are taking away my computer as I type now…
