Papa Roach

Speaking of juggalos, I’m surprised you haven’t given further comments in the ICP thread.

I keep overlooking it.
I’m a fan of Juggalos the same way others are infatuated by serial killers or flesh eating bacteria. I’m simultaneously fascinated and horrified.

I’m also in admiration of what Jay and Shaggy were able to do with a bad premise, some novice white rapper skills, and some serious marketing acumen. I could write a thesis on all this crap.

I could write a thesis on all this crap.

DO IT!!!

But seriously, watch it. On one hand, it’s kinda cool to see that the people are truly about something. But on the other, it’s pretty low class. I did watch all 23 minutes of it, but I drew the line when I saw a pregnant chick smoking a cigarette and talking about how she’s gonna raise her child in the juggalo lifestyle.

Didn’t they sing who got the hooch?
6 hits?

Edit: nevermind, apparently that was a band called “everything” but it is a crappy 90’s band that hasn’t been mentioned along with these crappy bands: eels and folk implosion

To be fair, those above bands you referenced had some really weird, worthwhile material that was kind of overshadowed by the whole “one hit wonder” thing…Shapeshifter by MP was a great record, so was the Eels later records…If you can find any of their records for a buck, and trust me you will/would (if you go to thrift stores or Amoeba), you might like them.

S.C.I.E.N.C.E by incubus is an amazing record.

Papa Roach is terrible. Stabbing Westward RULES. And I admit to liking Creed way more than I should.

I’ve always thought that “My Own Prison” song was a cool jam.

Takes alot of balls to admit that. [:P]

I actually think the first Creed album was decent. That’s before they started milkin it and totally sold out. Although I used to rock out to “What If.” Only decent song I remember from that second album.

Haha…probably some other stuff I picked up when Invisible was having those huge buy whatever get whatever free sales…I would pick up awesome shit like say(Chris Connelly,Phylr,Here,Dead Voices on Air,Sheep On Drugs,Pigface etc) and then get a bunch of not so awesome stuff free…just to try it out…

Bile certainly aren’t the worst offenders but still stuff I can only habdle in small doses…some of that shit I got(especially when Martin started with the UI umbrella)was just straight up do-do…I still have a soft spot for alot of the earlier Invisible release though…

Not a Bile fan. Here is AMAZING. First Phylr was really good too, not really big on the second. Sheep On Drugs… really need to dig them out again. Some of their shit was kinda cheesy esp. (Uberman era) but you gotta love 'em even then. Their cover of Waiting For My Man is sooooo good. Hey white boy.

[reply]You know what '90s act actually WAS cool before they got famous?

The guitarist on Lead Into Gold’s albums was in the original lineup. Stuart Zechman. That’s him on “Faster Than Light”.[/reply]

He played guitar on Connelly’s first solo record too.
