i will, does it kind of suck? you think it may not be real?

my disc just arrived. the signature is cool. just says “Force of Ohgr”. is that what yours says Porkspam?

go to the litany forum… everybody got a bunch of different ones…

i only saw one post where a guy showed his signature. but i didn’t see any others. can you hook me up with a link? maybe i’m just an idiot and can’t find the posts.

edit: i found it.

figured i would just put my mini review in here of the show.

went to see this at the double door in Chicago, with Chris Connelly opening. Chris played a short set, but the new material he played swayed me to buy his new album, which he graciously signed. (it’s funny, all the Chris Connelly cd’s i own i have bought directly from him, heh) as always, he was nice and seemed genuine in his conversation. he mentioned that he had heard some of the new revco, and that some of it was pretty good. a good time, indeed.

then American Memory came on, which someone told me was ogre’s touring band. they had a screen in front of them so you couldn’t see, and they played instrumental music while black and white old-timey footage played. (railroads being built, “slave” interviews, city streets with early model cars, etc. there was this one particularly sinister clip of this calf-corpse slowly floating up into view in front of some frontier looking house, all choppy framerate and such.) good stuff. the music, at first seemed like it was gonna be more of a horror type vibe, but then kinda just veered off into weirdness. again, good stuff.

ogre came on walking sideways with some crazy prosthetic suit on his back. he sang a few song facing away from the audience. he had a backing screen with various images flashing and such. he played (i think) the whole DIMD album (which sounded, just fucking…good. really, really good.) he left the stage, and came back and played minus, water, lusid, cracker, and a few more, i can’t recall at the moment. in all they played 3 encores. it was pretty badass.

after the show ogre was signing stuff at the merch booth, and he graciously signed the Vinyl version of DIMD i had purchased at the booth earlier. (there was a sign on it saying it was only available at the shows. the disc like a white cloudy color.) he was very nice, and like Chris, really seemed genuine in his conversation, telling people that the fans are the reason he is here, and thanking them for showing up, etc. he mentioned how much he likes this record, and if I’m not mistaken, he said it was his favorite ohgr record. I told him how much i liked it, how abrasive it was, and how much i enjoyed the textured layers and all that music geek crap. he agreed.

all that and i didn’t even have to pay $100 for a meet and greet ticket. it was great.

go see it if you can, sirs.

sounded cool…thanks for the post.

I don’t own any Ohgr material… but after that kick ass review of the show i just may buy his new cd. I love when artists are humble and are cool as shit to the fans!!!
Late,

I was thinking about skipping the Atlanta show, since it’s on a Wednesday, but I might just have to change my mind…

i’ll be there. can’t wait.

I’ll vouch for the Ohgr live show. One of my big pet peeves about the new record is that everything was way too reverb-y and sounded far away. Hearing it live was a big eyeopener and made the album come alive, big time. If you have the chance definitely check it out.

I’ll be in nyc seeing it tonight…
