No we don’t plan on going too far into the pop arena, though obviously some of that has crept into the new sound.

Thanks that mean a lot coming from you because unlike other people I think that your criticisms of the band thus far have been on the mark and objective.
Lyrically things got more personal and this song is very personal for me I went through a lot of shit this past year and came out a very different person.
I agree about the shock for shock’s sake. I think a lot of that has gone away which is not to say that everything moving forward will be as neutral as this video.
However controversial images and themes will only be present when they are relevant to the song at hand and not a constant backdrop to court attention from people.

I just now saw this. I have a confession, though - I listened to a fair amount of it (a few albums). I can’t wrap my head around it. I even gave it the old college try and heard it more than once, at different times.
I don’t know. Merzbow just isn’t for me, save for the few tracks I can get into by him.
