The amount of tours and fests getting cancelled right now is really climbing…
I wasn’t worried about it til now. Now we’re seeing major cities in certain countries shut down and deaths surpassing SARS. It’s just a matter of time before it becomes disruptive in our daily lives here in the US.
Worst case scenario that pot belly jock sniffer would impose martial law and we’d all have to work from home and submit jizz samples on a weekly basis or something
The fucked up part about this virus is it can return weeks after fully recovering and you can be asymptomatic and still pass on the virus to others who can get sick so that gives it the ability to spread like wild fire.
We still don’t know where this came from. There’s rumor that it couldve escaped from a lab in Wuhon also couldve been contracted at a open air wet market. Either way it just highlights China’s incompetence. They think they can leap into the 21st century and totally skip the tutorials with all the IP theft they commit. Western science took centuries to perfect there were no short cuts, taking short cuts is bound to cause trouble… and here we are.

Very good article, well worth reading in the New York Times about the reason that Coronavirus is a global economic issue even if you’re lucky to live where it won’t likely be personally life threatening to you. Also, that’s not communism. It’s a socialist dictatorship. Anyone would be hard pressed to find an actual communist state that has ever been put in practice in modern times. Probably the closest to it has been hunter gatherer societies. Rule of thumb when it comes communism is asking this one question: who is in charge? If the answer comes back anything other than ”everyone” (at worst the majority opinion) it’s not communism. Every country in the modern world that gets labeled “communist” isn’t even close communism.
Simply put, saying, “the leader of communist (insert country here)” is an oxymoron. Communists don’t have leaders.

Yes, I am aware of what the Chinese government is in practice. However, the government/party call themselves communists. I decided to call them what they chose to identify as.

He says this is definitely worse than the regular flu and there is cause for concern, but not to the point that people are reacting. He busts a few myths and confirms a few rumors. I’m inclined to believe him because it’s straight from his professional mouth and not run through the filter of a journalist. I’m only 45 minutes in. Apparently I was a little naive it my understanding BUT correct in that it’s not as dire as most are making it out to be. Give a listen if you’re inclined. The guy’s credentials are impressive.

This is how you stop a pandemic from happening.
Hundreds of thousands are sick and hundreds are dying. You shut shit down or that turns from thousands to millions and hundreds to thousands.

The pandemic is in its infancy. If allowed to flourish – and it will – we will all get it at some point. Some of us might not show with symptoms, but we’ll be carrying it. I wanted to visit my 75 year old mother in Florida this month, and I just canceled the tix. Not going to be the one to inadvertently kill her.
I don’t want to fall into alarmist rhetoric, but I’ve never seen anything even remotely like this.
When someone with the disease calls in sick to the stock exchange trading floor in New York, then we’re going to see some fireworks.

That’s really what opened my eyes up about it. The guy on Rogan said this really is just starting even though it’s been going for a couple months, which is why the death numbers appear to be so low. I was under the impression that we were half way through it. For the most part I stopped paying attention to journalists and articles because half of them said “OH MY GOD THE SKY IS FALLING!!!” and the other half said "Move along, nothing to see here. So, I just started following the the map I posted a while back and those numbers were not going with the “OH MY GOD” crowd. Still, the reaction over it is way out of hand. Masks and Hand sanitizer don’t make a bit of difference. So these people hoarding everything are screwing everyone else out of Daily needs and the medical field out of much needed masks that do help prevent infections for medical staff.
