[reply]Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve been down there. I think it was about 2006 or 2007, and at that time the cost of everything seemed about the same as the US.
Oh you’ve been?
I didn’t think anyone here had been.
What did you think of the people and the culture?
Sometimes I think we live in a bubble - so far removed from the rest of the world and all.
I know that folks complain about Australian customs. We have - supposedly - the toughest border control in the Western World.[/reply]
I have also been. 1-21 April 1999, Flew QANTUS LAX to SYD, in Sydney for three days to see the Opera House and Bridge then on to Brisbane, Bundaberg Rum, Baraga Beach, Great Barrier Reef, Australia Zoo, and Ginger/Pineapple tourist traps. I also saw The Matrix in the theater while there.
The exchange rate at the time was around USD$1 = AUD$1.55.
As far as real estate cost, Zone 1 in London has some of the most expensive in the world. Pounds$1M doesn’t buy much space; people have to go out to the Zone 4 and higher 'burbs to get an affordable two bed. Also, there are so many council rentals vs. owned homes vs. an influx of people/young adults needing work and affordable places to live, the councils have proposed restrictions, such as a single person cannot have a 3-bed rental, etc. That was the big controversy the last time I was in London in Jan. 2013.
Gunnar has more countries to his credit than I do, but I have also traveled a bit.
[reply]I was just in Vegas and went to In-N-Out Burger.
The Double Double Animal Style was $3.35, fries $1.60, small choco shake $2.10. Total was $7.62 with tax.[/quote]
When I worked for in n out (20 years ago). Fries and drinks are where all of their profit came from. Fry boats were like a penny each and a bag of potatoes was like 75 cents. Drink cups were less than a nickel. and the syrup boxes for coke and such were like 2 bucks (if that)… Double doubles I believe were on the menu for $2.25 or $2.50
[reply]It may have been God that drove the wedge between them.
Thought Jesus was supposed to bring people together. [/snark][/reply]
Who knew?
Mrs. found God and lost her Mr. along the way.
If people greet this with derision then there is really no hope for you lot. You’ve been crying for Al to return to his roots and this couldn’t be more that! This is totally old school Ministry in the truest sense of that!
In N Out is starting to branch out, they got two places here in TX. Gotta say, they suck… pretty bad. I was just shocked at how overhyped this junk was after I had some.
The burgers are small, the fries are flavorless and bland. It’s like fast food if you’re on a light diet… if that makes sense.
I’m actually not super into the fries (I like them okay, but they’re nothing to get fanatical about) and I can understand why some people don’t like them.
And I think a lot of people take “hype” about In-n-Out the wrong way. Is it going to be the best hamburger you ever had? Not likely. I’ve have plenty better. But at the price and from a drive-thru open 'til midnight (or 1am on the weekends) I think it’s pretty hard to beat.

Word!!
Never liked the fries either and I used to swing fries for them. The burgers are definitely small.
Fuck In N Out.
I can’t imagine that the song on that site is on the remixxx album. I believe the album is real but think someone is playing a joke as far as that song being on it.
That’s my feeling too, everything Al puts out he hypes. There is nothing from him on this. This remixxx is kinda shitty too.
Gunnar, i have to say i’m a little disappointing in your reaction to this. Angie is finally gone and you’re talking about fast food.
You’re surprised?
He has a one track mind and the IQ of a twelve year old. Just wait an hour or so and he’ll respond - as soon as he’s done making farting noises and watching Transformers.
Oh yeah - and Grmpy once said that the Phantom Menace is better than (critically acclaimed Spanish arthouse fantasy piece) Pan’s Labyrinth.
Now that’s classy.
I heard YOU once said that that one thing that everyone agreed was really good was actually not so good and that you actually preferred something that was actually less good to the thing that was really good.

Don’t start trying to tongue his ass now, shit for brains.
He may be trying to go to heaven…[/reply]
What’s funny about this moron is that the whole time he types these rants accusing me of these over the top nastiness posts, he himself is typing these rants of over the top nastiness.
He’s just used to getting his way and now he’s not so he’s pitching a fit.
