New NIN single

Actually, there is a good chance that the leaks are intentional. Two of the songs have been found on pen drives left behind in toilets at NIN shows…

Haha, yeah it would be pretty clumsy just to happen to have a single song on a pen drive, twice, go to the loo and have it fall out of your pocket. pretty funny though, “but you can steal it in the next couple of weeks”

Another one leaked… http://rapidshare.com/files/17301519/Me_I_m_Not.mp3
Deleted.

I googled Me_I_m_Not.mp3 and found a few other sites with it… at least one of them worked!

Let us know what it’s like. I hope its better then aatchb… I didnt mind that… but it wasnt as good as closure… I think I liked the whole videos + live + backstagey stuff… I’m sure the new one will only be a straight concert… but I know it at least has two of the promos as a bonus.

On another note… I got my NIN tickets yesterday, whoo-hoo! Come on may 13th… I’m seeing Eagles Of Death Metal… the Pixies, RHCP and NIN in the next 3 months… go melbourne, keep em coming! I hear tool are back in december too…

I honestly don’t see where the new nin is so good

I honestly don’t see where the new nin is so good

Just let it go, man. It will do you no good to dwell on such matters.

There are now FOUR leaked songs, all of which have been found on USB pen drives in the bathroom after various concerts. They are all being hosted at a permanent link site and as more come available they are added, along with all the “extra” things like the phone message and other little clips that have become available through the big “conspiracy” (which is just a fabulous way to get the kids into spreading word of mouth rather than the record companies dull promotional abilities). You can find all this stuff over at :

So far it sounds ok, in my opinion. It’s got more of a Downward Spiral feel but has elements of With Teeth all over it (jeezus… I almost said With Sympathy!)… It seems to me that before long this whole album will be leaked in similiar order to these songs so that Trent can avoid giving money to the record companies and such. It really is a great way to get people into it, and I applaud him for the effort he is giving in making music more interesting than just “Hey. The new album is out. Let’s go shell 15 bucks at the store and get a copy”. Nothing new, but nothing that’s been done in a while. So… 'eh… I guess it’s a fun game to play.

Peace!

Reminds me of the viral marketing thing they did for the movie AI several years ago.
Did anybody ever figure out the big mystery to that one?

Apparently it’s done by the same company that did the AI game.

There was an AI game?

Ye Gods - Stairwell yer plates full for concerts already.

Shows I wanna see:

Type - O - Negative ( Lord Peterus Maximus is on the cover of Decibel this month. Good article. Peter + Joshua review their own discs record by record and make hateful comments/remarks on each. Good stuff!)
Skinny Puppy
Heaven & Hell
Down ( I’d sell my left nad for this one. Anybody need a nad? C’mon somebody…!)

That’s all I can think of for the mo. Going to see Harvey Pekar give a talk Weds at the Wex. Should be a gas. Love me some R. Crumb and Pekar.

Anyway - yeah I’lll drops some phat lines on the new NIN dvd hopefully by… Friday?

I think TON would be pretty good to see live, I have seen a bit of a bootleg dvd of theirs, lots of covers, lol. I have Bloody Kisses and World Coming Down, pretty good (in a we’re not taking ourselves too seriousley kinda vibe).

Skinny Puppy and Down would be awesome too, good old Phil… what happened to superjoint ritual? I saw they released like 2 dvds then I dunno where they went.

Heaven and Hell I wasnt sure on, I’m a big sabbath fan, wasnt sure about dio tho… I suppose I like the Live Evil LP and thats dio… I think they’re coming to aus but I heard the tickets were ridiculously expensive anyway… so I thought I’d pass.

A friend of mine bought beside you in time. I havnt seen it myself, but in his words its “amazing”, and he’s not the hugest nin fan in the world… so we’ll see! I dunno if I wanna watch it before I go and see them in may tho… suppose if I’ve seen closure + aatchb and bootlegs one more won’t hurt!

The new NIN DVD is by far the clearest and most amazing live DVD I have ever seen. The main feature ‘Winter Tour 2005’ is absolutely stunning to look at. I thought I was watching a Blue Ray or HD-DVD, I don’t want to even think about how great those must look.

Anyway, the extra songs from "Summer Tour 2006’ sound good, but the picture quality drops a bit as its noticebly more grainy. The music videos are just fine though.

I didn’t notice and real difference between the DTS or the Dolby Digital sound. The clear stand out is the drums though, I mean, they are very loud (d’uh) but on a good enough system the Bass drum to closer feels like its punching you in the chest. Its a damn good DVD.

I read an article today about the new NIN DVD, and it spoke a bit about Year Zero. I knew about the USB drives, but I didn’t know about the rest…

Have you checked out that freaky marketing campaign for Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails’ forthcoming post-apolcalyptic concept album Year Zero?

And if you have, can you please tell us what the heck it’s all about?

Cryptic websites, hidden clues, creepy e-mail and phone messages, leaked MP3s on USB drives hidden in bathrooms at NiN shows – it all makes that online Lost Experience seem like Tic-Tac-Toe.

What phone messages, what clues?!

The new NIN DVD is by far the clearest and most amazing live DVD I have ever seen…

that new nin live dvd is the worst and boring stuff Ive seen in the last few years.
no joke.

yeah. it’s quality and shit, etc, but it has too much “old” songs, i’d prefer alot more material that they never played or played rarely.

I saw a bit, not all of the dvd… seemed good to me, I didnt watch any of the main feature though, just the bonus videos and summer tour stuff… the live stuff was interesting, better than and all that could have been…
Although the fence/bars in front of the band that trent was hanging off… reminded me of a certain fence that a certain band played behind on a tour many years ago…

I agree with the whole, it’s the same songs… rare stuff is always good to hear… like the appendage to closure disc one, bunch of rareish/old stuff… like the shot from the original MOTP… can see why it got scrapped, but at least we saw a bit, lol…

yeah i mean come on, put some fresh stuff to that dvd, trenty. especially when the setlist for the 2006 was much more varied than the 1999-2000 fragility tour ones (one set for euro, one basic set for usa). tired of seeing stuff like terrible lie and closer in every fucking nin live show/boot vids.

agreed, lol… I suppose he tries to vary it a bit, with closer, might change a bit for a few min, but then changes back… but yeah, it needs variety… What ever happened to the whole “rock star” home video setup? Ie. live stuff - backstage with musicians breaking things and getting smashed - live stuff - music video - more shenanigans… most dvds that come out seem to be just a straight out live set with nothing else to them… eh maybe they all think that setup is too 90’s…

I saw tool at the end of jan, they played like 8-9 songs… I was hanging for The Pot or Sober or Third Eye… none played. But the day before at the big day out the pot was played… and a few days prior to that at a diff bdo, sober was played… I mean same old songs you know, but at least theres variety between shows…

no, nin in 2006 was pretty varied too, even in the 99-2k tours they played 32 songs live judging by all the setlists (though some of the songs once or twice). they varied the setlists alot more in with teeth tour but the main point is that “beside you in time” has too much material that was already seen on “closure” and “and all that could have been”.

as for ‘backstage’ stuff, i mean the one on the “closure”, for example, it was stupid, so they get drunk or drugged and bomb the room with furniture, big deal. i’d rather see some live and or rehearsal fuckups or something like that.
