acid_cripple mentioned al announcing retirement, and the return. which one was that? because i remember him doing that after every post-barker album.
when paul left, al was like yeah we are new band with new faces, new energy, blah blah. and al was clean (again) too, cuz he was also clean (i guess not really) before animositisomina release. at that point his goal was to make sequel to psalm 69 album for ministry, release a revco album, and a lard album, he called that a three-headed-monster, and if im not tripping, he was actually gonna tour like that - convenient, because in the past those side projects were basically ministy plus/minus a person or two.
that was 2004, after which he said, yea im gona do that, one last time, and im gonna go be a teacher. yeah ok sure why not.
suddenly in 2006 i dont remember the circumstances of this minor comeback. i guess al was bored of producing stupid fucking manson wannabe-ripoff Spyderbaby, which he actually let sing on couple of nu-revco songs, holy shit. so suddenly al “had to” follow up houses of the mole album with “rio grande blood” because something something?.. and he was gona quit afterwards again, though i dont remember the actual reason.
then 2007 it was The last sucker and its just a blur now for me. talks about this being a finish in his antibush trilogy, etc. every new release was mediocre anyway and always was connected in my mind to some story about a) al quitting or returning, b) al almost dying of some addiction or accident and c) some retarded shit like infamous ostrich story OR d) shit same setlist story (infamous CULaTour setlist fiasco of “band playing songs from their 25 year career”)
hell, even the fukin lame live dvd was called “adios putas madres”. how many times and in how many ways he has to say goodbye…
which makes me remember him saying numerous times, and im paraphrasing the quote - “i dont wanna be like fukin rolling stones - playing same old shit when you’re fuking old”. hmmmmmmmmmm… what is happening now then?
as someone already pointed out - putting scaccia on cover and mentioning him specifically looks really unpleasant and dubious. no disrespect to mikey.
your history is a little off. i don’t know why you guys always say this because i don’t know what he said in 2004, but all the interviews i saw when rio grande came out said his plan was to do one last one after that then call it quits.
