New Ministry album - MORALE HYGIENE

I like the intro to “Im sensitive.” the whole smm album is ok. But Ill take Amerikkkant over anything hes done in the last 20 years…

With him retooling work for love into an acoustic song i think he should put out an acoustic album. His voice is solid enough to stand on its own without effects pedals. He could cover some of his songs as slowed down acoustic versions. I think that would kick ass (as long as he doesnt cover friend of the devil again :face_vomiting: Ive had enough of that song!)

“I’m Sensitive” is such a wonderful kick in the teeth! I love it.

Cool to hear you love it. Me, not a go to tune I seek out. Didn’t like SMM.

One thing I know after being on this board for many years is that none of us feel exactly the same way about the music of Ministry…especially post- Barker Ministry…

For the record I love Amerikkkant for the reasons stated by Rev and Gunnar…just played it the other night…

Also, I just noticed the title of this thread. It’s Moral Hygiene, not Morale Hygiene. Kind of a big difference. Just saying.

Let me guess…you have that one skinny puppy that al produced framed on the wall.
Never been a fan boy and never will.
Post barker is a smelly pile of crap and you know it, we all know it.
Things get ruined.

Yeah internet stranger that I’ve never met, you have me all figured out…because if you don’t like something then nobody should, right? Nice work,Inspector…

What’s your favourite mixxx album by Ministry? And isn’t that Relapse record great?

Just because you own a name doesnt mean its represented.
Same goes for barker, he is barely listenable without al.
The magic is gone people, have fun hanging in there.
When bands change up the ranks its never the same and i know with al thats just in a live touring capacity.
Youve all judged post barker and usually hit the nail with the hammer.
Its just all filler and vault tracks that were probaly cherry picked jams ect.
But like i said, have fun, i fell for all the bush trilogy crap just like everyone else did at first.
It just goes on and on like this is…

Let me guess. Someone dropped a lazy one-liner highlighting the boring redundancy of all your posts demanding cool guy status for not liking something and your little ego got bruised.

I stand by what i said, feel free to interpret .
I did leave out though…pre barker ministry is classic, timeless, love it.

Barker is doing fine with Lead Into Gold in my opinion… and I don’t think his newest releases are particularily “worse” in style or quality than his 90’s output, even if Rieflin and the others aren’t on board. The opening track from his Flowering Blight project was worth the price for that one alone. Sure, Ministry’s records post-2000 aren’t perfect, but neither are their classic ones (except maybe The Land Of Rape and Honey). Have fun missing out

I-s-b-w-i-s…its as easy as that, just as it is, should be.

This album came out last Friday and there is zero talk of it on this board.

I haven’t even got it yet, haha.

Still waiting for my pre-order to arrive in the mail - but since I live in Norway, I’m used to three weeks waiting when ordering a new record. I want to listen to it on my CD player with a glass of wine or something first. Anyways, this is a fine opportunity to post this new Al interview Spin posted today: https://www.spin.com/featured/al-jourgensen-ministry-moral-hygiene-interview/?fbclid=IwAR32PU8UjxTJZZI2FJ_IurYDFkigBVRAFEicLlDXEvELsYW7VU816-g5_H8

So there’s still hope for a Lard record, and a third (heh) farewell album :stuck_out_tongue:

Ive got to listen to parts online everyday since it’s been out just ordered a physical copy. At first I thought a little low key but still into it on first listen and just keep liking it more. Interesting vocals and Al plays the congas on one. Al and Cesar play bass on three songs each, Elleffson bass on two and D’Amour bass on one.

Who is playing the guitar in the video for Disinformation? I know Morrison is playing on the track itself, but I wouldn’t know if it was him or possibly Pittman in the video.

I was thinking after seeing Barker/Connelly online recently, since Ministrys tour is pushed back again, maybe Ministry could stream a small performance to help fans make it until spring.

Thanks for that read, here’s another recent interview:

Al says: This is the job I was built to do. And so I do it.

I hate it. It sounds terribly phoned in. Listening to the whole thing was an exercise in diminishing returns. Any other band, it would already be a ghost in my Recycle Bin…

Al announced via Spin today that his next album is his last as Ministry and that it’s a total arena rock record. FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH
