Someone did enhanced bass “remastered” tracks of …and Justice For All on youtube.
Sounds much better, I think this has been out for a month or so.

I’m one of the few people who stuck by Metallica through the St Anger debacle (even though AT BEST it is a so so album). Hoping the new one is an inprovement. …And Justice is one of my all time faves.
And why do we have to wait til August for a new album if they have 15 tracks written and recorded. RELEASE them already. Don’t labour over them for months on end - they never used to, so why now?
Be spontaneous!!
I can still listen to Testament and Sepultura any day, and rarely Slayer gets a play or two. It’s been rather hard for me to listen to Metallica ever since I got Reload as a present when it first came out.
Album’s been pushed back til Nov, Dec.
And even that’s beginning to seem doubtful!! Why do they take so damn long?

And I STILL do not believe the black album was a ‘sellout’. The second half of that album is as good as or better than anything they had done up till that point (though as I said - shame about Enter Sandman).
everything is a sell-out, didn’t you know? Unless the group is still unknown except for a circle of select people who can appreciate their artistic integrity which has yet to be ruined by ‘the man’ and ‘production’, and watch them at the same venue every fortnight, then they are a sell-out.
Yeah, Rubin is a bit hit and miss. But I like what he did with the first two Danzig albums.
I havn’t heard the first two, I have 3rd or whichever is the one with Mother and the Geiger artwork, but i didn’t really get into it much… bit cheesy, and not TON cheesy, just bleh.
I dont like the misfits I’ve heard either… I hear people rave about them… I see all these emo kiddies wearing their misfits shirts and shoes and belt buckles etc…I have to wonder if they even know who they are… suppose it fits in with the cheesy image these emo kids give off. I think I’ve only heard danzig misfits though… I assumed I wouldnt like more based on what I heard.
The misfits have a few decent songs though; so I can careless about the emo stereotype, although i’ll admit I shake my head sometimes. And i’ll say that metallica is WAAAAYYY overrated and has been throughout the entire 90’s up until now. Only album I can really stand is “And Justice For All”. Haven’t really heard anything else. But I absolutely hated the black album and anything after that. Someone got me St. Anger back when it came out and I just gave it away like a tissue.
And the comparison to slayer? So what? There’s a whole lot of bands in the world that would be considered “overrated”. You don’t think, at one point or another that the same wasn’t said about that little bad they call, Ministry? I’m willing to bet when psalm 69 came about, that there were a few who probably said that. So I really just consider the term “overrated” very lightly. Don’t care.
I think metallica are a bunch of sell-outs though, imo. They had their real heavy/thrash stuff and became hardly a mere shell. I absolutely hate and loathe Load and Reload. So if anything, they’re progressively just getting worse. Sorry for the rant, but I honestly can’t stand them.
I havnt even heard all metallica… I have heard ride the lighting once, can’t even remember what it sounded like. Love master of puppets… and justice is good, but i agree with whoever said they can’t listen to the whole thing… I really like it, but then other times I’ll think it’s a bit Bleh. Black was ok, but I didnt go heaps on it, havn’t heard it for a good 6 years though… I agree on load + reload, i kinda liked them, but they were pretty boring at times… same with S&M…
however I do enjoy st. anger for the most part… dont think i’ve listened to it all the way through however.
But I have never heard Kill Em All or Garage Inc or that stuff… probably some of the better stuff, from what I have heard cliff was great bassist
