my new band BLACKBOMBS playing w/Ginger Fish (Marily Manson drummer) Sunday 8/8 NYC

Just come as that guy at the top and I’m sure I’ll notice you

nahh, no I’ll PM you beforehand

Hey I was just thinking, You guys have more than these two songs written, right?
Cause if you’re an opener, you’re not just gonna play 2 song and bolt are you? What else are you gonna play?

little side note, when I saw"forest fire"as the name of the track I thought you were covering the dead kennedys!

Yeah we just haven’t had time to record the others yet. We have a total of 5 songs we’ll be playing, including a cover of Throbbing Gristle “Discipline” and we do experimental sound interludes between some of the songs. So it’ll be about a 35 min. set.

Right on, Dude. I wish you the best of luck! I hope Fish Likes what he hears and gets you a foot in the door!

Sonic Death Rabbit

This is a joke on the fake band name Sonic Death Monkey from the movie High Fidelity, right?

No clue, never asked. I always thought it was a play on Sonic Youth (they were Sonic Death here and there in the 80s)

Voidhead I will be there tonight. Look for the guy in black hat w/buttons (James)

I am uploading our backing videos (which we were up until 8am last night making) onto a portable harddrive right niw and then rushing to the venue. Super fucking excited.

Yeah I’ll look out for you JLW. Will be a first finally meeting someone from prongs. I am wearing bright red pants and will probably be covered in ripped lace shit and black goop.

It was cool. I had to cut out before Fish, I had a migraine a-coming. I would’ve say bye but you disappeared?

Oh yeah sorry about that. Lots of people around I was trying to talk to everyone.

It was nice to meet you and I look forward to hanging out again at cEvin kEy.

Hope you enjoyed the show!

Did your performance go ok, void?

Did you meet Ginger Fish?

Did you meet Ginger Fish?

I was wondering the same.

Performance was really good! We had a great show and good crowd response even though the turnout for the whole night was a bit slugglish. Our crowd was right up front while the whole place was kind of dispersed for the rest of the night during DJ sets.

We had hoped to include backing videos but those fell through at the last minute. However our sound was good and we had a lot of fun. I showed up late, having been feverishly trying to prepare the backing video in time. I was given a ridiculous wet lace…poncho and a collar with huge spikes and went onstage to find a masked slave (I had no idea who it was but I proceeded to rub my crotch in his face)

Ginger was too cool for school during our set (probably because he was trying to hide in our dressing room on his iphone for 4 hours since they were charging an extra $10 to do a meet and greet with him…ridiculous)

I didn’t want to bother him much but he seemed very quiet and nice. He asked us during soundcheck how we could be a band in NYC given the cost of living and we told him “believe us it’s really fucking hard”

Our dressing room was later raided with star fuckers after our set who were drinking all our drinks and generally mingling and being obnoxious, smoking cigarettes in there etc.

They were all friends of the endless array of 1,000 homo DJs who comprised the rest of the night’s entertainment. Funny thing is they fucking got paid to play other people’s music while we got shafted playing our own music. Go figure. I absolutely loath DJs I don’t know if I’ve made that clear on here before.

Later Ginger busted in and abruptly started peeing next to me while I was in the bathroom in the dressing room and I talked with him a bit about the next Manson record. He seemed to not be very involved and said he didn’t know if he or Chris Vrenna would be drumming on it. He said he needed to catch up with Manson & co.

This didn’t surprise me because Ginger’s role has been basically diminished from ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’ on to just “live drummer” he doesn’t really do anything on the albums anymore (except piano on “Into the Fire” from the last album)

So that was it. Didn’t talk to Ginger much but had a blast and made some good contacts. Looking forward to more gigs with BLACKBOMBS.

I will post some pictures for you guys in this thread when they surface.

I met him too on my way out and he seemed nice. I don’t know why he doesn’t do more keyboard work…

Wish he were more involved in the manson albums. Since Holy Wood, I don’t think he’s contributed much since.

^ Agreed. Though the drumming on “Doll Dagga Buzz Buzz Ziggety Zag” on ‘The Golden of Grotesque’ is fucking superb.

Pics from the event:

Those are fucking way cool.

I love it when bands dress up (ie The Residents, Mr Bungle, Caroliner Rainbow, Sun City Girls etc…). You look kinda black metal mixed with goth mixed with Bungle. I would only ever be interested in being in a band if they dressed up.

Do you have any plans to play gigs outside of NYC?

I think you’d go down well in San Francisco. I hear they’re open minded down there.

That’s not a metal face!

Let me see your real metal face!

[/b]You don’t scare me, work on it![/b]

Killer stage show [shocked]
