I won’t go into detail on some of these things but:
I grew up around politics. Now notorius, Duke Cunningham was a family friend, at age 8 or 9 I sat at a VERY small graduating class for the War Colledge up in D.C., V.P. Cheny was the guest speaker. My father a grad… My family actually KNOWS the Bush family and in fact the Bush family brought certain members of my family into governmental positions after the winning of the first election. Suffice it to say, I’m one of those that can truly say he grew up in the political world; and as my father is pretty devoutly Republican, I perhaps got the strongest serving of that side of things.
Though I would not elect to follow my father and enter the world of the military and/or politics, it’s probably not surprising that I would take a strong interest in the study of political science.
Despite the enviroment I grew up in, I would not end up Republican…I’d also end up far from Democrat.
I truly view the dual party system as an illusion, and an illusion that most notable politicians are well aware of. Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin…a third major party would actually mean little more than the introduction of an actual 2 party system. If you don’t believe me, overview the details of Clinton’s second term (take his name out the picture, and one could easily argue that it looked like you were looking at the actions of a Republican President.) Also take a look at how many bills Bush has vetoed that were Democrat in origin. Finally, take a look at how many of the “major” issues Republicans have attempted to push through that Dems didn’t just complain about, but actually didn’t give approving votes to in majority.
Before criticizing Dems. Actually take a read of Smith’s “Wealth Of Nations” and then comparing his outline to how we actually have structured our “capitlism” (you might see there quite different designs). Also, take some study into Republican ideaology and then compare it to the actions of the current Republican party…I think you’ll see the “Republican” party isn’t so Republican. In essence, the industrial military complex, economic imperialism, EXPLOSIONS in federal beaurcratic size, etc. are quite the opposite of standard “conservative” ideals; and in many ways, mirror the behavior of concentrated regimes/empires of the past. (don’t complain of “medialized” communist, facist, etc. if you mirror the behaviors of what leads to such).
Take the same basic outline of 5, swap areas of attention/study where needed as to apply them to the Democrat party. (you just might see how similar the parties actually are and how far from their ideaology both are).
Fuck 1984, go ahead and read Machevili’s “The Prince”…in fact, give it a good 3 or 4 reads…watch any media news channel you like for a full day. Read news papers the next. Then read 1984…what Orwell was saying just might finally start to sink in.
Actually read the Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels before you comment on communism. You just might find that the governments you’ve been told are communist are anything but (in fact, to say a government is communist is an oxymoron).
Nothing is forcing you to listen to Ministry or to participate on a Ministry centered forum. You are completely free to cease listening to Ministry. Don’t complain about not liking their message and then continue to listen (that’s just idiotic). Grab the old albums you like, and cease paying attention to them.
And finally, if you are going to talk politics and make CONFIDENT statments, make sure you’ve studied your subject matter less you make yourself sound like an idiot.
I Love 1984!!! Pat Tillman, the perfect example of the Hero Winston Smith creates. I said that right away when I heard of his death the same time as when I ever heard of him.
