Ministry: Prescripture-The Visual History

Prior to each of the recent shows, the Ministry Facebook page would post a picture of the new Halloween orange vinyl taped to the wall of an obscure location in the current city the day of the show. First fan to find the vinyl single got to keep it. They stopped posting before the tour reached LA.

Got my copy yesterday. Haven’t opened it yet.

Got my copy as well, very nice collection of classic and previously unreleased images.

I submitted my early years collection to Liz and Al and some ended up in the book. Mainly high resolution scans of early show flyers and promotional images. They were very kind and put my name in the Thank You section and forwarded me a copy of the book.

The highlights for me are the quotes from many famous musicians-

Mark Mothersbaugh was in attendance at the Hollywood 1983 show and praised their sound. (This show exists in pre-FM soundboard quality with a couple unreleased songs, here’s hoping for an official release someday)

Jello confirms that the early version of I’m Falling and Overkill were both from a scrapped 7” single that was replaced by the Cold Life EP.

Moby’s first successful DJing gig was a result of beat matching I Wanted To Tell Her with a New Order track.

There’s plenty of cool tidbits from every era of Ministry—highly recommended!

I’ve just read Al will sign With Sympathy with a 1000$ donation to Chicago Blackhawks Foundation at the event.

Couldn’t get off work to attend, so all you lucky crumb bums, enjoy.

My wife got me this for Christmas. It’s a really nice book. Super thick pages. Nice, cushy soft leather covers it. Mines 419 or 429 or something of 2000. Afra is also thanked in the thank yous

I, too, picked it up as something of a gift to myself. Haven’t had a chance to crack into it quite yet, but I will soon.

I finally got my copy. It’s light on actual text content and heavy on artistic design (which obscures a lot of the photos unfortunately) and quotes from some people you might care about and others you don’t. A lot of great flyer images, which is cool, but most of those are on the Prongs site already anyway. 150 bucks is kind of a hefty price tag for a book with little real content and a 7" with no b-side (I didn’t bother with the signed copy which would have been even more - I have no interest in signatures).

Regardless, it’s nice to have a Ministry book where at least the first half of it interests me. I still think they should have stuck “It’s Always Christmas” on the b-side of that “Everyday Is Halloween” 7-inch, especially since orders went in around Halloween and were fulfilled around Christmas! Would have been perfect.

Why did you spend twice as much as the book cost? https://www.melodicvirtue.com/products/ministry-prescripture

Because I got $75.00 worth of t-shirt and one-sided 7-inch, apparently.
