MINISTRY - Las Vegas - May 26, 2016 ($20)

And then this happened . . .

We left during this apocalyptic asspile.

LOL. I was just waiting for the cameraman to pan around and reveal an empty gymnasium with a couple of people sweeping the floor.

It was only a few clicks better than that, to be honest.
People were leaving in herds.
I mean . . . . Twerk and I are pretty hardcore Ministry fans and WE couldn’t go the distance with this shit. Most of the venue had already cleared out.

Most of the venue had already cleared out.

Still enough time to catch the end of Jello’s show?

RE: JELLO

No, I didn’t catch his set. In truth I’d even forgotten about it by the time we left the venue and we were having so much fun after the show that it didn’t cross my mind much.

However, after clowning around for several hours we decided it might be nice to get some food and/or coffee in us, so we went down to the café in El Cortez.

While waiting at our table I saw Jello and a few of his homies come in. I told the clerk to put their bill to my room and that I’d take care of anything they wanted.

I was nervous as all hell as Jello is a long time hero / idol / god of mine and I didn’t think I’d actually be in the same room as him eating.

After Jello’s group finished, the lady that he was with came to our table and kindly thanked me. Then Jello asked who paid and I got up to meet him. He was a really sweet guy. I felt bad, though, when he asked me if I went to Al’s show or his. Ouch! That hurt.

He did sign my jacket for me (I had explained to my friends that I carry a Sharpie in my vest “because you never know”.

That’s awesome. I’ve met jello a couple times and each time he’s been less than cool. very full of himself, bothered, whatever. wouldn’t keep me from approaching him again. maybe just caught him on bad days.

I’ve heard others say the same.
I didn’t want to be that asshole that interrupted their meal to be a gawking fanboy or something. I knew he’d just done his show and was enjoying some quiet down time away from most of the smelly punks.

I figured by picking up his check, that showed them that I was appreciative and recognized him but not trying to clothesline him on his own time and force a bunch of selfies or some shit. It left the ball in his court and I was very thankful that he chose to come over and acknowledge me.

I told him I was a long time fan and thanked him kindly for all his work and entertainment throughout the years. He started reviewing the patches on my jacket . . . "Oh, look, you got Alice Cooper here and . . . " I have a bunch of DK patches on the front as well, but said, “I think you might like to see the back . . .” and showed him the big LARD print on the back. That was when he asked, “So, did you go to Al’s show or mine?” I apologized and admitted that it was really tough but my homies were all going to Ministry and I had to make a choice. He replied a bit sadly, “We should have been on that bill!” I agreed, and don’t know why they weren’t. It would have been incredible.

I told him I’d really appreciate him signing my jacket if he didn’t mind and he was glad to. I didn’t bother him with anything else or try to take selfies or anything. I was just super happy to have a moment with him and be able to do something nice for the guy.

Oh, and their ENTIRE bill (for the 4 of them) was only like $20, hahahahaha!!!

If I actually spent time with someone either in a meet-and-greet type situation or it was something where we actually were sort of hanging out in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, yeah, I might ask for a selfie. But I wouldn’t just bother some cat while he was shopping for groceries or something. With most people I would not have even done what I did, but I truly only put stuff on my jacket that is personal and meaningful and I just didn’t want to miss my shot.
