I am curious to know if the Al in those videos reminds you at all of the Al you knew back in the early 80s.
He was more animated back then, doing lots of impressions and kinda up on his toes, bouncing around all the time, big laugh…large gestures, etc.
The fact that he seems to, at least in the last few videos, spend time outdoors sitting around a patio table seems odd. I never would have suspected that side. Clubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, and city apartments were the only places we would congregate. You know, we were city folk. He seemed less comfortable on the road in small towns. Now he looks very comfortable out in the middle of nowhere.
But his voice inflections are the same…even the way he smokes is the same. When we were reunited after 18 years a few years ago he seemed very much like the same person and we conversed like it was yesterday.
