If that’s true, why are some of the lyrics about a cheating spouse?
Just a metaphor. Look at the lyrics to Lover’s Leap. Kind of in the same vein. Not literally cheating, but at that time, Al was hanging around with a pretty rough crowd (the crippled many) that Paul viewed as greedy, druggie kiss ass hangers-on (smokers reeking of greed, lust and power). This was also the start of his feeling shorted on credit/money/input (the first two lines). They’d been partnered musically for 10 years and Paul saw their relationship going down the drain in favor of this new crowd - grinding into nothing. The only thing left was, in his view, music of dubious quality (only left with trying offspring)
Or at least that’s my view.
And lips seems to fit pretty well, so I’ve changed it until anything that makes more sense comes along.

I even googled it to see if it was something that maybe I hadn’t heard of before… But google hadn’t heard of it either…But that seems to be what he is saying. Just kidding! I really appreciate that you’ve given my transcriptions a seconds worth of attention… I’ve grumbled about the lyrics section on off for the entire tenure of my stay here at prongs so to finally get noticed is great to me!
and {lips} really does fit on several levels especially in light of that “new crowd hanging with al,” you know paying him “lip service” but really killing him.
Wonder if Paul would remember the lyrics or even want to discuss it if he did? He’s certainly approachable I wonder if one of us should ask him about it we ever run into him again

I assumed Useless was about Paul’s opinion of the suits at Warner Bros.
Just updated the lyrics for 12" Singles as well. They were close to correct, but pretty jumbled. They should be readable and correct now, with a couple instances that I could use some help on.
Fixed up Twitch and Land as well. Most were already in pretty goodshape, but some needed quite a bit of work. I Prefer, in particular, was way off. Still could use some help with some - like Flashback. Don’t know why that one has always stumped me, but I know quite a bit of the transcription on the site is wrong. Just can’t come up with anything better.
I’ll give it a looksee and check if I can help at all, a bit later.
