thanks…why can’t it show on the left.
I really like this board. Everything is discussed here, from obscure music acts to Japanese flicks, and more. I (as well as others) post topics not even relating to Ministry and many reply with opinions/answers. You guys seem very open minded and I’ve learned about many cool bands from here…
For curiosity’s sake though, it would be interesting to see some of the famous and infamous people who lurk check in, as I suspect there’s a few. I guess that’s a big part of why they lurk though.
I know as a fact that Atkins and Connelly do every now and again (both have posted here too). Ministry engineers have been here (and also posted - when I went to El Paso, one of them had this forum bookmarked). Barker comes on here too but hasn’t posted. Another ex-Ministry member is also on here and has posted quite a few times.
Mrs Jay has seen this forum, obviously.
I also “lurk” more than I post. Alot of the stuff I post is with regards to fellow fans expressing opinions about Ministry in the past, memories of the “hey day”, and discussions of music they’re into nowadays. Sometimes there are some friggin funny things people say, and I can’t help but add an inane comment. At times, after I post, I get the sense that there is a clique of posters which is hard to penentrate - This is despite the fact that I have been on this board since 1998. The thing I like most about this board is that it consists of alot of old time fans rather than johnny-come-latelys. The thing I like least is the tendency at times for some visible list members to flame others because what they express is not “correct” politically, from their perspective. While these posts piss me off, I refrain from joining in the barking and focus instead on those things that I enjoy.
Now to my next essay, “what I did on my summer vacation”…
Word up to my fellow fans.
damn afra, I didn’t know all those (insider) people have posted or lurked here. That’s awesome!
I’ve been lurking here for years, and I’ve occasionally thought about registering. Can’t say exactly why I finally did today, but here I am.
What kind of Ministry fan am I?
I’ve been listening since the Lollapalooza days.
My favorite album is Mind.
I love the early synth stuff (I’ve missed a few Prongs downloads, and I’m dying to hear Eyes of Christ and Same Old Madness).
I bought the last few albums as soon as they came out, but I do think they’re less innovative than the “glory days.”
I think the #1 thing missing from Ministry these days is the dance groove that they always used to have even through Psalm 69.
It’ll be nice to have a username here so I can finally chip in my two cents every once in awhile.
It’s not that I lurk as much as just not having the fucking time to hit every last forum every day/week/etc. Between checking the news, BroadbandReports.com, HydrogenAudio.org, Myspace.com, Empornium.us, various games forums, my mail, blah blah blah you get the idea. Right now I’m burning CDs of old warez crap and movies I downloaded in the good days of BitTorrent before the MPAA started cracking down on it. Just trying to free up hdd space so I can use newsgroups for my fix. Not enough time in the world…

Welcome. If you want those missed tracks, most of the peeps here have them on Soulseek (http://www.slsknet.org).

RE: Atkins, that’s pretty funny considering bagging him used to be the board’s favourite pastime.
Some of us are just too busy now to post. I post when I think about . I may become a regular poster here again soon though.
