Loving Relapse

Oh, another thing that SURPRISED me was that I liked the bonus remiXXX of “Relapse” on the disc too. It’s just funky and cool. It’s just weird enough to escape being a generic “industrial dance song” like 5 billion other tracks made in the 90’s. I don’t even like this type of music, but this one’s just groovy and fun. I guess the fact that they mixxx it to sound more druggy makes the retarded lyrics work even better than the original. It’s a totally different song, but I like both versions.

Listening again, I really like the music to 99%, but the words are just so stupid. Too bad he doesn’t have a Chris Connelly to write his lyrics for him anymore.

fugly drum machine ruins everything for me (if the material was even remotely good)

but drums have such glaring horrible sound its just … uh

I agree…the drum sound was a rotten cherry on an already rancid cake…

GET UP GET OUT AND VOTE!

plays everyday around here…

I would really like that song if the title and lyrics were different . . . or it was sung in Arabic or something. It’s just painful, though. The song is actually pretty catchy (which I suppose is properly effective if you want people to get stuck with the message) but getting that line stuck in my head is more annoying than “Dude look like a laaaaayddaaayy!” or “Unnnnnskinny Bop bop!!!”

…every rose has it’s thorns

Really the drum machine? cause that overshadows the fact that Al can’t write music for shit.

Well, that’s pretty much the key as far as I’m concerned too . . . .

I was listening to the CD again last night on my computer and the little play thingy shows (composer) in back of the names of I guess whoever wrote the music parts of the song. The songs I liked most on the CD were NOT written by Jourgensen. And all of the songs I hated most definitely were.

HAHA! Bad lyrics are the biggest turn off for moi too.

Dude, those lyrics are honestly the worst thing ever written by anyone or anything capable or writing.

“99 Percent” and “Get Up Get Out and Vote” especially . . . . Holy crap! It actually makes the songs unlistenable for me. I was able to kind of enjoy “Get Up” as like background music, but as soon as my ears and brain zone back in and hear the chorus it’s like someone is drilling a 2 inch hole into my brain and shooting a firehose loaded with stupid juice straight into my skull. It HURTS!!!

“99 Percent” is the same way, “Leeeetttt’sss puuuttt eeemmm innn haaannndd ccuuuffffsss!!!” Good grief, will someone please shoot me dead so I don’t have to hear the rest of this song???

Holy crap indeed!

This was my reaction to first hearing Relapse [shocked]. Then it quickly changed to… [laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh]. Fucking hilarious stuff really! If you’re looking for a good laugh boys n girls, go ahead and give Relapse a spin.
