Post thoughts on Gay, Black & Married. That’s the one I never picked up. It was supposed to be a side project, and I guess I never got that notion out of my head. Actually, speaking of side projects, I’d highly recommend checking out Darling Kandie (with William Tucker). Sounds like early TKK. I think I ought to pull that disc out again myself…
i just started getting into them, and like most of you, i’m listening to the pre 90’s era. sounds very similar to skinny puppy imo. especially the vocals. pretty good, though! sounds like a mix of revolting cocks (groovy bassline) and skinny puppy (vocals, samples).
I admit though I only hate one song each on their first two LPs
How could you hate anything off of Good Spirits/Bad Spirits? Except for maybe On This Rack. Not a bad song but I could do without it.
Never thought of the Skinny Puppy comparison before.
Darling Kandie is actually really very good, I think a lot of that musically proves how talented Tucker really is/was. It has the Groovie sleaze sounds but there’s a lot of textures that definitely don’t mix with the stuff they were doing from 1997-2005…

I meant three LP’s. But, that’s the one. A lot of that instrumental stuff kind of drags, they definitely got a lot better as they went along.
I like the instrumentals. The Ryko reissue of Good Spirits/Bad Spirits has a great outro called Back From Beyond (hence the name of the upcoming tour). I also dig the Confessions Themes. Heresy never gets old. Then there’s Final Blindness. However, I can see your point on The Twilight Web from A Crime For All Seasons.

i had never heard of this until you mention it. i heard one tune on youtube and i liked what i heard. i need to find this cd.
Look at Invisible Records’ site before you do (they released it), chances are you can buy that along with 3-4 other albums for like 20 bucks. They always have fire sales.
New Website Coming Soon
Off topic, but I’ve really been digging the debut album from Trust this year. They don’t sound much like TKK, but they do have that sinister early-80’s industrial vibe that nevertheless reminds me of TKK.
Point being, I think folks here would really dig on Trust. Check it out.

As the show draws closer I still haven’t finished my journey with them. I downloaded Death Threat and I think it’s a step in the right direction. Way better than the samples I hear fro Filthiest Show In Town. I found Sinister Whisperz to be disappointing, only cuz the vox get lost in the mix. I guess the next one is The Ressurection Of Luna cuz Reincarnation isn’t available for download. Not sure about it though. 2 out of the 3 songs that made it onto their best of from those albums I don’t really like too much. The Untouchable Class kicks ass though. I think that Best Of could’ve been better put together. But that’s where I’m at with TKK. I’m still avoiding Hit & Run Holiday.
Digging the Darling Kandie CD. I like the low-fi feel to it, would’ve been nice to hear more output between Tucker and Groovie.
Luna is alright, not their best, but I’d still recommend picking up a copy used from Amazon or Ebay. The sleazy lounge vibe on Hour of Zero is sweet, probably my favorite track on that album.
Yeah,Darling Kandie is a cool, overlooked album…got it way back when Invisible was having one of their fire sales…William Tucker is sadly missed…
How exactly did Tucker kill himself? I heard he killed his girlfriends first and then slit his own throat. Or am I thinking of that dude from Christian Death?
Rozz Williams from Christian Death hanged himself…never heard anything about him killing his gf…
William Tucker had a long time illness which led to him taking his own life…I believe from an overdose of pills but not 100% sure…I know he was found in his apt by a friend…
we’ve gone over this several times in other threads, but Tucker cut his own throat. He had chronic testicular pain that the doctors couldn’t fix or tell where it was coming from (not an std or cancer or ?)
Damn I’d probably kill myself too if that was going on with me.
I have an extra promo of Darling Kandie I can trade for something, if anyone’s interested.
So TKK is having a contest for a meet & greet before each show. Whoever generates the most activity on facebook, or twitter, relating to the tour gets in. I’ve been starting to watch recent live footage and Groovie is sounding like shit. Alcohol really killed his voice. As much as I’d like to meet TKK, I’m not sure I’d wanna stick around if Buzz is having to back Groovie up all the time to make him sound better. There will be a webcast of the SF show which I’m going to. I’ll post a link later.
Contest? I saw TKK in the early/mid '00s and we just hung out with them in the bar after the show. My ex has a pic of her and Groovie and a bunch of other fans crammed into a photobooth.
