LiesLiesLies Video Now Online

Actually, speaking of Ministry videos, I just saw the ‘Same Old Madness’ clip on youtube and it is INSANE!!! Man, Al looks so goddamn sleazy. It’s so soft porn looking.

The song is ok too…I wonder where I could track it down.

Probably the worst track off the so-dull-it-isn’t-funny ‘Rio Grande Blood’, too I might add.
You know…that’s really, really funny. Because it seems that you liked this album when it first came out. I swear, I KNOW I’m not imagining this…also, as for the Korn comment, I know without a doubt a doubt I’ve seen better videos from them. One was called “Blind,” their first single, and the other was “Freak On a Leash.” No matter what you think of that song or that album, the Freak video was incredible.
And Olsen - try Soulseek. If that doesn’t work for you, just hit me up with a mail address you don’t mind me sending songs to. You’re one of the three or four people I HAVEN’T sent songs to yet; I really don’t mind. Cheers!

i think most of the people here liked rgb when it came out (i mean, leaked), but the album wears of really quickly.

I don’t know, I’m still diggin it. STILL the best release of the post 2000 era!

Yeah Rio Grande Blood sort of overwhelmed me at first with its overall intensity and sweet production.

Then I went through it again a few more times and I’m thinking “where were all the songs I liked so much the first time???”

It’s definitely a good album, but not creative enough and too repetitive to be an interesting Ministry release for me. And many of those thrash riffs are sooo tired and cliche.

I just fucking hate thrash metal or whatever to begin with anyway so that about killed it for me after the first few listens. I’ll still throw it on every now and then…it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. I like the drum programming a lot!!!

I mean Ministry have yet to release a straight up BAD album…

That was exactly what I tought when Filth Pig came out. [cool]

If you want Ministry to be a less talented version of Slayer w/George Bush samples and a phaser on the vox just say so.

RGB wore thin pretty fast, but it’s still their best since Filth Pig, imo. The title track, Senor Peligro, and Khyber Pass are gold.
The new Revco is just the opposite. Thought it was pretty weak at first, but it’s really grown on me.

Yeah, Lies Lies Lies video isn’t going to win any awards, but has a few good moments. The chorus parts as my friend pointed out has a RevCo vibe. Dancing girls on tv’s with psychedelic colors swirling in the background. Something it seems RevCo would do.

I also got a kick out of the comparison of the war on terror / DHS “terror” alert scale with 1950’s Cold War duck and cover tactics. When the terrorist figure appears in the window, they all dive under the table like it will save them. Awesome.

The rest was so/so at best.

I actually didn’t think it was a bad video or song at all. Just a little…flat I guess? I don’t know how to describe it but it just doesn’t grab me as much as I hope for coming from Al.

Ministry’s biggest problemo, I think is that Jourgensen honestly believes that his music has improved. Like so many artists (Sheryl Crow, Neil Young) he’s conned himself into thinking that “Bush-Bashing” is the answer to everything - whereas all it really means is an excuse to churn out stale songs:

‘Artists’ like The Youngster who bash politicians in their songs (oh hell, who bash Republican politicians…I mean where were all the naysayers when ‘Grubbyfingers’ Clinton was leeching all over interns) mistakenly believe this qualifies them as ‘important’ artists, that they are indeed the voice of a generation too bored or slow witted to form their own opinions. Ya see, we’re all apparently too stupid to understand that politics is corrupt and corporations are greedy until we hear it in a song. Hmmmmm, must’ve slipped our minds.

Delusions of Grandeur? You tell me. Honestly when was the last time you consulted yr Neil Young back catalogue before rockin’ on down to the ol ballot box? It was so funny when that whole ‘Vote For Change’ thing backfired, leaving all involved with egg on their collective faces.

Ha! Fuck you, Michael Stipe. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

Honestly, I think all it would take at this point to reduce Al to a complete hack work status pile o’ dust would be one teeny tiny memo from Dreamworks:

"DEAR AL / NEED YOU FOR GREAT NEW A.I. SEQUEL / KILL YOUR NEXT ALBUM / LUNCH TOMORROW? / STEVEN. "

Funnily enough, A.I was recently voted the second worst film of all time in a nationwide British survey. I should’ve saved the link when I had it. Freakin’ hilarious!

Now Spielberg has been forced into hiding (supposedly the Caymans, but reports differ) and Haley Joel was last seen lurking outside the Dreamworks front gate dressed in a bear suit and making kissy faces at passers by.

Pffft! Showbiz!

Yuck. I just know she’s gonna be dancing on stage tomorrow at the ‘Port to this lil’ number.

I recommend you stay at home, put on “Land of Rape & Honey,” and pretend it’s 1988
You’ll be happier, and more importantly, we’ll all be happier because we won’t have to hear you whine.

Whine???

Yeah, yeah, I peep you my jig.

I’m sorry what was that?
I don’t speak idiot.
