This doesn’t happen to white people, so it must not happen at all… ever… to anyone. even though Police departments (especially in the south) have a history of being one and the same as the white supremacists. And the same for me - I’ve been in the US 20 years and have interfaced with the police once (in a hit & run on me). Was very courteous and was over in 10 minutes. Wasn’t scared to call them or anything… I’ve never ever thought “if I go to the local deli, will I come back alive?”. Apparently, many think that - how fucking sad.

There was a white guy who drove his car through a line of protestors in Newport Beach of all places. Caught on camera of course. The police pulled him over, let him casually scroll through his iPhone feed while they decided whether to bring him in or not. Now one of the news stations says he “allegedly” drove his car through protestors. It’s on film, there no alleged to it.
This is small potatoes compared to most of what’s going on, it’s just another of a million examples of how ingrained and accepted the institutionalized racism of America is. Two generations from now are going to look back on us with disgust just as we did segregation.
ETA: and sadly I’m not convinced two generations now that black people will be any better off in America than they are now, I just think the institutionalized racism will be more invisible to white eyes, which will make the problem even harder to fix.

I was just in the zone reading posts and it didn’t register to me until after I read it that “Fuck I didn’t skip his shit.” and so I had to post “one more time!”. So, I posted once since his “lazy teacher” post.
So… the “last ever post” left by the guy who wasn’t going to say anymore and was leaving forever and was not going to read any of the responses has now been almost completely erased and retitled. He stated he wouldn’t do all the shit that we knew he’d do anyway and he is now giving clear and indisputable documentation of it. Thanks.
