Thank you! No formal permission but there’s a bunch of covers out there now on YouTube.
I’m pretty sure at this point whoever’s running the estate has backed off a bit because starting about 6 months ago his stuff’s been all over YouTube.

Haha thank you! I edited this and it was shot in a studio with a small crew of trusted friends/colleagues.
And no I don’t believe Prince’s estate is as concerned because his stuff is all over YouTube now starting a few months ago.
I think they just want money so if it’s plastered everywhere nowadays it brings them in more.
I suspect the legal cases had more to do with his label issues than with his fans (when he wrote Slave on his face and changed his name). I also seem to remember him also locally distributing mechanicals or giving them away for free at some point.
BTW, The video doesnt flag in YT. If it was an exact cover, it would flag due to the code they run to check.
