Justin Symbol

Definitely!!

Awesome. thanks for the report

Sounds like a good time. If I wasn’t in beautiful Gatlinburg Tennessee I’d have gone to the Atlanta gig. Hope it was amazing.

RIGHT ON!!!

Met Mooney tonight  fun show!! En route to Texas now!

Great gig! Saw the rest of the guys in JS before set start roaming around, but didn’t see Void until he took the stage. Sound was good, and Void’s voice was good. Yup, I agree, quite entertaining! A couple young ladies in the front were very familiar with JS songs. They had also been in JAX the night before.

No sooner had I introduced myself at set change, and Void was off to do an interview. He came back and we chatted. I also chatted with Fox (bass) for a few minutes at the merch table. I collect posters. Fox asked me if I would like it signed, and he got everyone to sign it.

The young lady playing guitar in Requiem looks as if she is 16. I would describe them as punk metal, and not really fitting with JS or WC.

I noticed that William Control was chain smoking while signing. (No food in this bar, smoking is allowed.) Sound-wise, imagine Morrissey meets Depech Mode. Topic-wise, not so much. Ha! :-p

Somehow, they were booked in Dallas for the 25th without a day off in between. It’s about a 16.5 hour drive. I hope they made it safely and in time for tonight’s gig.

I have had Justin Symbol songs stuck in my head since the show on Thursday. It’s somewhat infectious.

That is a bold declaration.

“I hope William Control has CDs for sale because his songs are online and I don’t have the internet.”

And people wonder why CD’s still sell. This is why. You have no idea how many people I’ve met in the south say stuff like this. It’s like a time warp.

I’ve been constantly humming along to Mel & Kim’s “Respectable” for the last 2 days. I have considered suicide.

Voidhead should name his next album “Somewhat Infectious”.

I do like both of those album titles.
Especially SOMEWHAT INFECTIOUS (could even be the name of my Voidhead tribute band I’m putting together).

Void already named it Godhead.

I encourage you all to get out of the house for a couple hours, enjoy the show, and meet Void in person.

I will admit, I felt a little overdressed/underdressed in blue jeans and a 3/4-sleeve top.
Next time, I’ll make sure to get dressed up.[:P]

I echo that. And, also back in this thread a bit is a link to his fund raising campaign to help pay for the tour. He said he is living in a red van during this. That makes me sad. Maybe throw him $5 or $10 if you can spare it and want to help a brother out. That isn’t a lot but maybe if enough here chip in they can get a hotel room an extra night.[/reply]

His goal for this tour was to break even.
The red van broke down in SC. They had to rent a truck/trailer and apparently missed their gig in Atlanta. So yeah, they need the extra support more now than ever.

You socialist commies make me sick!!![pirate]
How about him just working harder? Thats what Merca’s all about. Hard work and Jeebus.

I thought about breaking out my combat boots and trying to get into the groove but these days I pretty much just look like a middle aged dad and I didn’t want to be a creepy old guy trying to look cool. But, even with my jeans and tshirt I still think I looked better than the fat chick that was only wearing a pair of William Control panties and shirt at the Raleigh show.[/reply]

My steel-toe docs were at work (industrial plant), but I could have worn my
knee-high, high-heel docs. My center of gravity has shifted with age, but I’m pretty sure most of us who are 35+ do not look like we did in our early 20’s.

After seeing people run around pretty much naked in all shapes and sizes at shows/clubs, I stopped noticing.

Guess it’s just as well I couldn’t make it.
We can’t say ol’ Void’s not paying his dues on this tour.

Guys thanks for the comments! En route to AZ now!

Yes what happened is we were set to break even on the tour, consistently selling lots of merch, and then my van overheated in South Carolina and the engine completely shit the bed.

Now I’m personally shelling out 6k extra taking out loans etc. so we can continue the tour. Were in a rental truck now which we used to do FL and TX shows while the van is getting fixed.

We have a courier driving our van to us from SC to AZ and then we’ll pass him the rental to bring it back to SC, and fingers crossed that works out without a problem.

If you want to support please do so here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/justin-symbol-u-s-punishment-tour/x/10621509

There you can essentially buy merch at normal cost and the money goes towards this tour. Anything is appreciated and if you are coming to a show I can give you any physical merch in person! Those aside from grmpy and Gunnar who are coming please PM me for guest list.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

I definitely still notice the naked people.
There are some I wish I could UN-notice, but I notice them all. Oh, yes. I notice them.

[reply]Void already named it Godhead.

Godhead is a (not so good) Nitzer Ebb album. I’d rethink that title. Maybe Doghead. Bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay![/reply]

Voidhead from Godflesh’s Hymns; Godhead <=> Deathead on Coil’s Scatology.

Going along with his Voidhead (nihilism) and Fuckhead (stupid asshole) naming scheme, maybe it’s just simply Godhead (empty idol or megalomaniac)?
