What I’m saying is perfectly sensible - it’s shit made with disregard
Ironically, so are children.

This could’ve been so much more offensive.

I thinks thats why void doesnt get hassled so much anymore.
Well that and his music is actually much much better than
His first several years of offerings. Void is growing up [tear]
WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN???
The reality is that there is nothing new under the sun and no art being produced right now is groundbreaking in any way, including mine of course. I believe we’re at a point in time I think where all art has become retro or recycled in nature because we’ve not yet broken into the 4th dimension of what the internet actually means and how it will radically transform art as we know it.
Those critiquing my work, calling it offensive, unoriginal etc are not only playing into the shock value hype that you’re deriding, but you also are assuming that I believe myself or any artist currently operating to be groundbreaking which I do not. I think you also believe yourself to be the target audience, which you are not.I just like posting here.
The reality is you probably dislike it so strongly because it touches some nerve which means I’ve succeeded or you wouldn’t be so fired up about it.
<sigh>
But then 3 steps backwards with the posting of self important pretentious crap like this ^ Egh. What are you gonna do?

See, here I disagree. I don’t believe that “everything has been done” in the arts. Of course, there’s a limited number of scripts that can be written from the limited number of human aspirations, but the number of elements that can be combined to express those aspirations is practically infinite.
Not every new art movement has to come from out of nowhere and consist of 100% totally unexpected elements (and anything that did would probably fall flat on its face too quickly to even become a ‘movement.’)
The music of the Sex Pistols, for example, may have ‘just’ been super-charged Chuck Berry chords, and their look may have been assembled and recycled from pre-existing subcultures, but all that was combined in an inventive enough way to be something satisfyingly “new” IMHO. There were enough differences to make a difference, as it were.

Agreed. I think as far as that goes, the people who ARE innovating on that level, like Kanye West and Daft Punk, aren’t necessarily beloved around these parts.
I’m talking about a bigger issue though. Like how the advent of distortion radically transformed folk rock into the rock n roll that we’ve come to know.
I’m talking about a bigger change than a new sub genre or something.

Sure, like this example here, it’s as much a matter of scientific discovery (and / or failed experiments that become ‘happy accidents’) as it is a matter of changes in aesthetics and perception. We probably agree that new sub-genres are just a symptom of these larger changes, they aren’t the starting point for that change.
I think if people want some other seismic change in music, it’ll require people changing their conception of what the ‘fundamental unit’ of music is - when that changed from being pitched notes to just ‘sounds’ in general, we got everything from electro-acoustic music to industrial, hip-hop and “sample-adelica.”
again with the West and Punk
innovative
hardly
the year
was 1995

Was that
a haiku?
What occurred
In '95?
contemporary music = dogshit
following fads and fashion = unbecoming
its more common to attempt to turn shit into gold
the output is most always shit…

Yes the world sucks now
Culture stopped evolving
In 1995 everyone suddenly became dumber
And incapable of good art
Now we speak in haiku
To mourn the death of art
I also agree
Art’s been dead since 95
So haiku it is

Let me guess
'95 is when you lot turned 30
The age when people
stop listening to new music
But it’s not a coincidence that
you think art sucks now
also ‘Filth Pig’ came out
in '96
So you niggas better atone!
I saw the balloon
Crash, killing all inside it
You were not amused.
Let me guess
'95 is when you lot turned 30
I wasn’t even 20.
