I think Viagra Culture is a great example. It’s not metal in any way shape or form. Personally I love the track but even if you don’t dig it it’s hard to argue that it’s metal.
“Light Pours out of me” is a cover song and was also done in the Paul stages of the band so probably not the best example (also it’s pretty danged guitar heavy).

Seriously, the riff that comes in just after the halfway mark in Viagra Culture is so metal! Strip away the electronic samples, spoken word, and beat, it’s metal all the way!
Light pours out of me, however… strip away the guitar, or at least turn the distortion off, and it’s rock at it’s most, pop at it’s least.
I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Or battle to the death.
