I just see it as a kind of solstice festival, and focus on the themes of regeneration and recurrence which the Christ myth is just a bad copy of.
THANKYOU!
This is what I was hoping to hear.

eww what an emo thread
You…BASTARD!!!
I’m definitely with you on that one.
I’m not surprised that you are with Peligro on this. You are his lap dog, after all.
My worst memory? Probably picking up a plate at the dinner table and smashing it against the wall in front of 20 or so assembled friends and family because my bitch ex’s hostile sister and prick husband can’t refrain from making snide comments about personal matters that are none of their fucking business.
To name just one.
You really belong in a straight jacket surrounded by padded walls. Not so much for the above anecdote, but mainly because you are a Godflesh fan.
In a word - yes.
What is your WORST memory of Christmas???
Spending Christmas day sleeping in my car when I had no money and nowhere to live twenty years ago.
I hate Xmas cheer and all that goes with it…don’t mind the actual day though…as others have pointed out it’s good for feasts and spirits…with that being said,I’ll probably be drinking and listening to Red Water by Type O Negative by 10am…
I’ll be doing the same.
But instead of Type O, I’ll probably dust off my old 90’s death metal collection and give it a spin while I stuff my face on supermarket garbage.
I’ll make sure it’s loud enough for the neighbors to hear though.
christmas is an excuse to see my family, which i enjoy, we’re quite close. however, i live in a different city to all of them and don’t get to see them much. only a couple of times a year, maybe, unless someone dies. unfortunately i’ve seen them quite a lot lately. i didn’t go home last year, as me and my g/f needed some space, which was a mistake in retrospect as two of my family will not be there this time. such is life. fuck religion and commercialism, btw.
