They should cut back on those news samples, as they become really annoying after repeated listens. The track itself is decent - but not up to scratch compared to the best tracks of hopiumforthemasses. The last bridge section of the song was unexpected, and that’s a good sign.

I don’t wanna be a gossipy little bitch and this is pure speculation but it might be a case of getting those two in a room together and either one or both of them realizing there is no way in hell they can make a full album together so one track would suffice…

I didn’t have high hopes but the return of Barker was cause for optimism. Burned Out is awful and pretty much unlistenable and uninspired. Hopes have been dashed. This isn’t the Ministry that I loved. Not even remotely close to it. There was a time when I couldn’t wait for new Ministry. Now? I just hope it doesn’t completely suck. Jourgensen can quit tomorrow or put out 30 more albums. I’m done and just don’t care anymore.
Between this and the new Sleep, a total gut punch.

I’m gonna keep my hopes slightly up until I’ve got the CD in my hand - 'cause of course I’m going to buy it. Hell, I even bought that lame Squirrely Years CD, and that was the biggest pile of crap I’ve heard from Ministry since those two cover-up CDs which both were totally unnecessary. But having Paul Barker on only ONE track after making all that fuzz about him being “back”? Come on.
As far as final Ministry albums go, I feel pretty certain that they’re not going to top the awesome From Beer To Eternity. So the question is, will this one be better or worse than Last Sucker? I hated the latter for quite some time, but I’ve learned to appreciate it more with time - possibly because they made worse albums than that one since the first reunion.
I also beleived in a possible last LARD record for many years, but seeing how things are looking to end with Ministry, I’m glad 70s Rock Must Die never got a successor.

Yeah, track is eh. The main groove is pretty good, but that’s about it. As with the last few albums, the guitar sound is thin and lacks any kind of bite.The lyrics, predictably, are sophomoric and lazy. But, it is miles better than that Iggy Pop cover from whichever album.
I feel the last Ministry was 2008 …

Tried so hard to get through burned out, couldn’t do it.
Just hanging off from a cliff edge with both hands, one finger releasing at a time meanwhile we’re all down below hanging on to the feet, finally the last finger releases to a deathly fall.
That’s how I describe absolutely everything post 2004.
